They are only going to replace them once owners have a demonstrated problem. Not every cover is bad.
Oh cool, I was under the impression it was a design defect that would fail sooner than expected and eventually for everyone.

The service tech that delivered my spare tire told me the Rockville SC has been moved to Annapolis.
Good to know! So we have one closer than Richmond now. Yay.

Rivian will have a massive warranty recall for its tonneau covers eventually, and it wants as many customers as possible to be close to a service center. Sending dozens of unclaimed trucks to a high volume service center like Bellevue (Seattle area) may make more sense than satisfying dozens of long standing orders for customers located 600+ miles from a service center.

If Rivian anticipates other major warranty recalls (loose bolts, bad steering alignment, slack in the drive train, etc) they would be even more motivated to keep their sold inventory close to service centers.
There won’t be even a tiny recall for the tonneau covers. Service Bulletin? Most definitely. Service Campaign? Very possible. But not a recall of any sort.

Whew. I've been worrying about that one.

I landed in Baltimore Thursday AM and was thinking it must be a mistake or that they have different shop options in East coast vs PHX.

I was waiting for Limestone w/ Ocean Coast.

I ordered 11/2021 and launch edition wasn’t available. Seeing everything I wanted in a Launch Edition launch Green with Forest Edge was enough to make me switch. Got VIN: 011xxx

now I’m struggling to not list it for sale. If someone is willing to pay $30k more than I do, I’ll sell it.

I think t,he days of 30k over are well behind us. Looks like they are selling in the 90 to 95 range for R1Ts right now. I would imagine your out the door price is 75k for the truck and 7.5 k for registration and taxes so around 82.5 plus carry cost while waiting for the title. If it sold for 95k that is 12.5k minus the capital gains tax assuming 15% capital gains bracket you net around 10.6k.

Not sure it is worth selling for that after a long wait to get it.

Don’t get me wrong - I am happy to keep it. And as you stated - it isn’t worth it unless it is a $20k net difference.

Yes I’m listing it for sale, no I’m not in a hurry to sell. If there is someone that wants it and it meets their needs - I’ll consider selling - but I’m also not considering the need for $140k (yes those days are gone), and I’m not selling for $95k either.

The market seems to be hovering in the $95k range right now for R1T’s.

As supply picks up selling prices will go down. 6-9 months ago was the sweet spot for flipping one.

pricing of a new Rivian similarly configured is $100,700. Those selling for less than the current pricing likely couldn’t afford the vehicle.

like I said - not really wanting to sell it. Looking forward to owning it.

I've seen people with mid 2021 pre order dates getting shop access. As much as it frustrates me that my EXACT config was dropped into the shop, it seems Rivian is combating the "order first fulfilled first" problem with the shop.

Wow, there is someone else out there like us. Three plus years and not a peep from Rivian. Our son ordered the same day as we did, and he has had a guide for several months. It is, in effect, the Rivian Lottery.

Brian
There are others! I put down two preorders in Sept 2019, haven't heard a word from Rivian. Put me down for one of those beers!

I envy you guys. I can't seem to get invited into the R1 Shop with an 11/28/2018 order date.
I would be calling someone!!
