Guide originally quoted 6-8 weeks via rail on 7/25. Today it's been updated to mid to late Aug eta at Bellevue SC. Here's hoping to setting conservative expectations and surprising with earlier execution!

I love how I'm in the window before this one, and a bunch of you are getting contacted already and crickets on my end. Whatever their algorithm for determining who gets contacted is, is just so bizarre.

I removed the underbody, maybe that was the key? I will ask my guide to see if there are any delays if I add it back on.
I had the underbody shield configured, was contacted Monday night and have the underbody confirmed in my configuration. Going through the 8 steps now.

Awesome, let us know how long for delivery after you do the 8 steps. Wondering if the truck is really at the service center or not.

Isn't that awfully strange? You have R1 shop access and they clearly have your truck, why didn't they just reach out with your 8 steps or whatever sooner? Making you use the shop just seems rather odd to me.

I sent an email to my guide last night to ask if there is any way the fact that I have Shop access is holding up my order. You're at least the third person I've seen who has picked their exact config from the Shop.

Judging from recent VIN reports, underbody is now the single biggest choke point. What makes the least sense is why a 11/21 order with underbody has a VIN and many of us from way earlier do not. #RivianLotto

Well if it makes you feel any better, you’re in a window earlier than mine but placed your order nine months after me…

Unfortunately there are many variables that go into these assignments and every time somebody cancels their order, or buys a truck via the shop, it has ripple effects all the way through.

My latest theory is that the service centers are becoming bottlenecks in the supply chain. Some are probably sitting around with nothing to do and some are up to their eyeballs in service tickets. But who knows.

I thought the same thing. Why can I get my exact configuration from the shop, clearly available via ATL SC, but wasn’t matched directly.

Oh that would 100% explain it. I'm giving Rivian another Month before I remove the underbody to ensure delivery before 2023.
I asked about removing the underbody protection and was told they are also in production, but if I added it I would go back into waiting for another vehicle.

From what I can figure they are building batches with what they have and people who match that configuration are put into a raffle for the available vehicles.

All Rivian semantics. They say "we are building cars with that configuration," but don't mention it's two or three a month (exaggeratation).

I was booted out of the R1S June/July window to the October/December window, not yet sure if going from a 2 month window to a 3 month window instills any confidence though.

I got moved from Jul-Sep to Sep-Oct but my truck is supposed to be on a train right now. Likely would have arrived had they stuck with trucking. Guide believes it will be next week so I'm starting to get excited. What's anyone's experience with service center arrival to delivery times?
