I like the cadence of these updates and the things listed each time are decent adjustments.
the 4 week build pace is great! Love the progress they're making, and that they're following through with issuing updates. None of the VW shenanigans. It gives me a lot of confidence that things will eventually get addressed and/or improved.

The one thing I'd like to see is a way to report bugs and vote for feature requests. I guess a ticket to the service center?

YES.

I've requested these two things every way I can think of, and have (somewhat intentionally) made a point to Rivian that the current (lack of) process is inefficient/nonexistent. Apparently the "best" way to report a bug is to submit a service ticket. Which then gets attached to your truck. Which I hate.

Feedback is through your guide (?) who has to try and figure out who the hell to send it to. Or who just may not have a chance to pass it along.

I wonder if they’ll add the ability to drag menu buttons around to rearrange like Chrysler uconnect does, such a handy thing
lol, that was one of the first things I tried in the diagnostic dashboard when I realized I didn't like the order I had selected of the 500 things I was curious about.

Ignore the fact they listed the update as 2022.19.03 in the heading...oops!
Ignored.

I'm wondering if the car wash mode that retracts the door handles means that you can actually still open them when they are retracted. I'd prefer that to be the default mode instead of pushing them out, pushing on the opposite side to pop them out and open the door would be great. I don't like the obvious sign that the door is unlocked.

Wow, this is another great update. So many small issues appear to be fixed, added, or at least improved. Can't wait until I get it.

While I don't really want "dog mode", it at least works like "keep climate on", which is what I really want.

We also still really need a kneel mode. Hopefully that's not too far down the list (as a developer, I understand how hard it is to prioritize all of these requests).
I'm actually curious what kneel mode would entail, because from my vantage point, Lowest is as low as it can go, at least on the 20's.....But maybe you're talking about an automation to put it into Lowest based on geotag or whatever.

Several things:
  1. You can only get to Lowest if you are in Sport or Conserve mode, so we usually just lower it to Low in All-Purpose.
  2. The truck really hates staying at any height. I pretty much have to fart around with the drive mode screen every time I get in or out (especially if my wife is with me) to get it back to Low.
  3. Geo-tagging is OK to make it easier at common locations. What they really need is to add an "In Park" pop-up similar to the garage-door pop-up. Whenever you put it in park, it shows this, and asks you if you want things like "Kneel mode", "Easy-exit seating", or climate settings like "Dog Mode" or "Keep Climate On".
  4. I actually think they can get the vehicle lower if it is in park. They could easily drop the air bags until it touches the wheel well—we know for a fact that the wheels will rub on the well if the air bags fail, so it seems like we can squeeze another 1/2" out of it. If you move it out of park, it can raise back up before it lets you drive.
No matter what, without steps, it's really hard for shorter or less-able-bodied people to get in or out of the truck right now—especially on 20" wheels. For example, my 72-year-old mother hasn't gotten into it yet. (Some of this would be better if they had included an A-pillar handle, too.)

It's probably my biggest "complaint" about the truck from daily use. Even on low it sometimes feels a bit high to hop in at times, and I'm average-ish height.

Yeah, when needed I just take the extra button push to go to Sport/Conserve and Lowest. Plus it remembers the height setting for those (but not AP), so it might only be one button if you use Lowest for those normally.

Being that Rivian sent an email confirming pet mode on the latest update, clearly they don’t have the most up to date info (no surprise there)

That will be included in their Monday (Tuesday) morning weekly briefing of what happened last week.
