The POIs are Google now. They've publicly stated that more would be transitioning.
But I/O is a developer conference. I can't fathom Google showcasing an OEM using Android Automotive without Google Automotive Services (GAS). They would have a GM or other vehicle that does embrace GAS.
Unless...
I assume the subscription cut is to give them a cut for things like heated seats, safety features, etc that have never been subscriptions before but are sometimes now.
Here's the command to set the charge schedule... All this of course is with the appropriate auth headers.

I know the infotainment is Android Automotive AOSP... I guess that doesn't include the DRM components. If that's the hurdle I can't fathom them developing it from scratch and somehow getting the buyin from services that they've implemented it sufficiently.
Maybe someone should tell them they...
If you mod the app or spoof the network responses to tell the app the features are there they work fine. I was able to open the tonneau from my phone months ago.
I really don't understand why they're tying this to vehicle software. Tonneau, tailgate, and gear tunnel commands have been in the app but behind feature detection for quite a while and they do work. It seems strange to me. Are they actually adding something new to the truck to enable this...
I live in FL and it's been slightly cooler this week but I had 5.1% drop over 72hrs with no driving with gear guard on. 1.7%/day or about 5 miles/day. A little over 2kwh/day. $120/yr of power wasted. This is more than my refrigerator!
Went ahead and took the plastic panels off my truck today in preparation for the running boards arriving (maybe Sunday?). It really wasn't as bad as I feared. My truck had adhesive on the inside edge of the front and rear panels (it sounds like this was on earlier builds but absent more recent...
Absolutely should be under the bumper to bumper warranty. Before handing them my card I would have forced them to show me exactly where in the warranty documents it states the vampire drain and lack of 12v being covered.
These stories frustrate me. Especially as new company, Rivian service...
Why aren't the batteries covered under warranty? They shouldn't die from being discharged. This was not your negligence. There's no way in hell that I would pay that bill.
I'm pretty sure they implemented it such that the lights come on under those rules OR when the break pedal is pressed. ICE vehicles function based on the break pedal too.
I'm really curious as to your rationale for not just removing the panels and leaving them off. Is there concern for the underbody without them? Just because the clips are a PITA?
^^^ This ^^^
I'm quite torn on cutting the panels now. Previously I was planning on just taking them off and putting them it in my garage with my aero shields but beginning to rethink that considering the horror stories of getting them off in the first place (breaking tabs, adhesive etc)...
Quit being obtuse. Easy would be built into the app so I could report an issue right when I see it. I shouldn't have to go on a forum to figure out how to do it. Rivian hasn't even published this anywhere so they clearly don't intend on their drivers doing this.
