I wondering at what point does a 2022 Rivian R1T or R1S become a 2023?

I'm going to be an optimist and say R1S orders who have already been assigned a guide will likely still get 2022 delivery, while those who have not are probably getting pushed into 2023.

Not sure how they changed but I ordered a Model S middle of June 2016, got the exact order delivered middle of July 2016 with a July 2016 date on the door sticker. Was about 4 weeks from order to delivery date.

March 19 R1S with May/June 22 delivery window... I got the email and read it as "your R1S delayed until 2023..."

Glad I didn't get more stock. Hyundai/Kia will be the first SUV to market and likely dominate.

Yes - No idea why some got it and others didn't. Maybe your email security has a setting that saves you from getting depressing emails

at least you are getting emails….I haven’t received anything for the last month it seems

I've been waiting since Dec 2018 for the R1S. And likely *still* be waiting in Dec 2022. In the 3.5 years since I put down the $1000. There are *still* no alternatives that I can put my name on a list for (let alone purchase).

If Kia would open up pre-orders for the EV9/Telluride EV - I'd put my money down and see which came first. Or if VW developed an Atlas EV......Literally..anyone with a reasonable sized 7/8 passenger BEV. Rivian can still make a huge dent in this segment if they act quickly. However Kia isn't far behind....and Rivian just keeps narrowing that gap with every delay.

Not sure I get this logic. Why would focusing on one versus both make them less likely to hit their number? They clearly have way more than 25K orders for R1Ts. I suspect they are more likely to hit the number if they punt on the R1S than if they try to do both.

what i was saying is the opposite. they can make more if they focus on just one and its more likely the hit their number.

I did, October 2019 preorder. I have an October-December delivery window, and last week got an email response from a question at the beginning of may--was told my delivery window still on track, and the there might be an opportunity to move up since a have a "prioritized configuration"(LA Silver/Black Mountain/20 AT).

I find today's email to not be very encouraging.
