But seriously though...what is the customer role in all of this and how does it benefit us as pre-order customers? I was under the impression that we could just drive to a neighboring state and pickup there. If they roll back the 20% then I would be all in on helping!

This was to be the first meeting with their policy group. I highly doubt there would be any tangible benefit other than possibly getting in state service/repair and sales locations. Honestly, if that works out I would be great but I don't have strong hopes given the glacial pace of legislation.

as far as I know, the benefit is we get to buy the vehicle and not have service come from Virginia.

Haven't looked at this site in a while, but had no idea of a pre-reservation holder and policy group. I still haven't seen a Rivian in person and my eta is.... sooooon. When I asked on the Rivian Chat about any potential Carolina's first mile event, I was asked if I had checked out the Venice Hub. Which gave me a chuckle, not sure if she realized the CA and NC aren't exactly close.

I stoped by the Richmond VA service center today. I spoke to an employee that said that they were doing a delivery in NC today. I don't remember exactly where but Greensboro sticks in my mind.

Greenville, NC? I'm in this area, saw an R1T getting delivered a few weeks back. March 17th.

While we're all (patiently?) waiting on our deliveries I wonder if there are any folks who have already been blessed with their deliveries that wouldn't mind getting together with some small groups of folks who haven't had the chance to see one of these in person? While it may be a long while, if at all, that we get a first drive event down here - certainly as a community we can insource some 'first looks'? Maybe advertise some 'cars and coffee' events where they'll be present?

Seconded! I'll be waiting AT LEAST 18 months for my R1S, which is fine with me because I only ordered a few months ago. But the generosity and kindness of earlier recipients letting us ogle and gawk would be wildly appreciated.

For what it's worth...there a earth day thing in Charlotte that will have 2 r1t's on 4/23. I plan on attending this event.

Speaking of Greenville - any progress on local DC fast chargers? Its wild that there's nothing out that direction. My parents are in the area and we've had to setup charging at their house for when I visit ?
