Cammisa's videos with Hagerty have some of the best production value for car content on YouTube.

Am I the only person that doesn't care about straight line speed? All EVs are super fast and super reliable to the point where these things really don't matter anymore. I just want better ergonomics, build quality, and suspension refinement than my Tesla with comparable ADAS and charging performance. I have no interest in roasting my expensive tires at every stop light.

I think the straight line speed is fun and easy to demonstrate. Demonstrating that speed dispels the notion all EVs are econoboxes on wheels that can't get out of their own way. Which might have been true at one time but things have changed. You mentioned you own a Tesla so you're already in the world, whereas a large portion of people still don't have a reference point. But as a Model Y owner I agree, I'd love for my armrest not to creak every time I put the slightest pressure on it. I'd love for the passenger seat not to creak running through uneven pavement when its empty. I could go on but you get it, I'd love for better build quality and refinement.

Edit: And just to add in case I wasn't clear there's nothing preventing that reliability, craftsmanship, feature/software maturity. It all depends on the company, the vision, and how that vision is executed and maintained.

I'm sure many do not care.

I definitely do, and it is one of the main reasons I'm looking at adding the R1S to my stable. Even if it is a daily driver/SUV, I need it to be fast and fun. My daily now is an X5M which is just under 600hp and makes my commute much more fun.

If I didn't care, I'd get a minivan. It is much more utilitarian than any SUV and many pickup trucks (where your only benefit is tossing dirty stuff in there and piling stuff up high...and maybe some basic off road capability).

It is one of the reasons the R1T/R1T is so good. There's nothing in the segment that is fast AND goes off road. It irks me sometimes when people say things like "Oh the Rivian is taking too long, I'll buy a Volt/Model Y/Tacoma/etc". Makes no sense when they don't compare. Even at the $10-15K price increase, it is still in a class by itself.

All that being said, 0-60mph is less and less of a valueable metric now. 3 seconds vs. 3.5 seconds is different but what really is important is what happens after 60mph. Not a ton of videos/reviews about that unfortunately.

Think Hagerty and this Jason guy will make a video about Rivian like that lucid one? That video was great.

OMG! ? If you’re listening Rivian, for the love of god, please give as a “teenager” drive mode so I can lock this monster ? down! ???
But call it the “Not Me” mode because I want it for anytime it is not my butt in the drivers seat. While you are configuring it, allow it to be turned on from the mobile app.

VERY impressive! I'd love to see them to this again once they get their hands on a Raptor R. Can't wait to see how that R1T preforms against the V8 monstrosity. Good to see that the Rivian does live up to the 0-60 3 sec rep on 21/22's

I believe the R1T and R1S are both rated at 3 seconds 0-60. Since the R1S is significantly lighter than the R1T shouldn't it accelerate faster?

Not sure it is lighter. We will need for some testers to put it on a scale. We know it is shorter but there is the third row seat and other things so it would not surprise me if they are very close in weight.

Not sure it is lighter.
I originally searched and found a site that listed the weight to be significantly less than the R1T, but now I see other sources that say they are very similar. That makes much more sense.

I second that motions. Even guest driver mode for anyone else driving the vehicle.

Shenanigans!

Its a Ford! and the Driver Returns On Foot never happened.. Therefore, it wasnt a Ford.

But it certainly proved that it was F**cked On Race Day!

Don't give said teenager the keys (or key card or wristband) :p

But on a serious note, why would you ever allow said teenager to drive a $90K+ vehicle?
