Just wanted to report a "sighting" today! Heading west on I-80 going through Park City, UT toward California. Friends saw the truck later in the day heading south on I-15 toward Vegas / California (must've turned at the interchange in SLC to head south).
They're starting to roll-out folks!
(*ahem*.. please excuse the sad & lonely Raptor on the back of the transport)

Amazing that the normal transport trucks can carry a full load. These were made for traditional truck with traditional weight. The R1T is significantly heavier than a traditional truck. Good thing it still works.

Maybe some day I'll start see truckloads leaving Birmingham. I see trucks loaded with Teslas leaving the railyard pretty much every day which always strikes me as odd since Teslas are not sold in the state. Seems like they would just keep heading east to Atlanta.

Why the hell doesn't Rivian put some front-end protective film on these vehicles? Such a cheap way to ensure less transit damage from dust/debris. I just don't get it for near 6-figure vehicles.

Actually, they arent that much heavier, if at all, than standard trucks. LMT weighted one at 7000 lbs, with the official listed curb weight at 7134 lbs. A 1/2 ton Chevy Silverado is 6300-7100, and the 3/4 ton Dodge Ram at around 7400 lbs. I have heard that the R1T can weigh 9000. Maybe thats in max pack QM form?

For reference, the Escalade I sold last year weighed in at 5800 lbs. And my current GMC Envoy weighs 6000.

But I can tell you, as I work for a trucking company, that the as long as the max weight of the truck, 80000 lbs, is not exceeded, then they are fine. He only has about 35000 lbs of vehicles there, and about 40000 of truck and trailer.

The trucks and trailers in my fleet weigh in at about 23000-26000 empty. But we run light weight tanks.

I saw a transporter with a less-than-full load of R1T’s northbound on I5 in central California earlier today. Maybe four trucks. Sorry, no pic.

After originally reporting seeing these (4) Rivian's on transporter earlier this week, yesterday (3/10) my brother passed another transporter with (1) white and (3) Rivian Blue trucks heading along I-84 through Twin Falls, Idaho toward Oregon.

Things are happening.
