I didn't get the email...I kept my res through the price hike debacle, and I received the other emails this past week. No guide contact, yet. Seems odd.
I cancelled one and kept one. I'm guessing I'm just an outlier that their email list didn't catch.

Same here. I was sitting on a config that I didn’t really expect to go with at delivery a year from now.
I believe you, Mr. Create-your-own-transition-colors ?

I also received the mail. Mine went up exactly 20% after price hike to $99,275 from $80k.
Fortunately I configured all I wanted and nothing I want at newer price.

My only issue is that I have two preorders. One is LE and the other is not. I have communicated with Rivian multiple times that I need to see the R1T and R1S before I can determine which one will be the LE. Currently, the T is Launch Edition but I’m leaning more towards the S.

I got lucky. Locked in on all my preferences months ago and didn’t alter my reservation when price-gate hit: R1S, Rivian Blue, 20” AT, Ocean Coast. I don’t plan to change, especially now that the Ocean Coast option is $2k.

The email is obviously open to interpretation, but my read it is that the options you have will be the old price, but new options you select will be the new price.

IMO, even if we just got the old base price, that would be a great deal so this makes sense to me.

The email is not clear enough on what will happen if you change options after they restore your config.

So there is no reason to get angry about them “locking us in” yet. Feel free to be annoyed that they couldn’t make the email more clear though. It was silly to send it out without addressing that point.

I would be happy with the old base price for the trim level selected plus free upgrade to quad motor and free upgrade to the large pack. Then all options at the new price points. I’m obviously happy to just pay all the old prices too, but I am not sweating the price of the options and accessories

I'm confused by their phrasing on delivery timing - Max Packs = your delivery date could be pushed 'Forward'? As in possibly sooner (starting in 2023) than a Large Pack order?

Same here. I kept my R1T LE and canceled my Max Pack R1T. No email either. I don't think it matters as I'm hoping for my Guide contact this week.

I'm not sure what is wrong with this company in terms of thought process and communication. First they admit they made a mistake. They then send an email that they are going to "fix" it, but then place provisions on the fix? WTF?

I'm glad many of you are happy with your final configuration but many of us were not! I had a LE R1S configured, but recently was considering an R1T max pack. So now I'm stuck because Rivian made a mistake?

This is what they should do...they should reinstate the old configurator and prices and give a pre-order holders a 2 week grace period to finalize specs. Future changes can reflect new prices.

Honestly this company has me worried....I'm just not sure I trust them anymore, and I need trust to spend this much money...especially on a new relatively unproven company that struggles with basic customer support.

Got to admit, I don't love the tone of the email either. I hadn't finalized my color choice, or my battery size. I currently have max pack selected, but was planning on probably dropping that down to get delivery sooner.

Ugh.

I also had not finalized my configuration, have been changing it daily to weekly, playing around with different options and going back and forth between the Explore and Adventure package R1S. I'm not even sure what my config was on Feb 28! I also didn't like the tone of this email from Rivian.

I 100% agree there should be a 1-2 week period to finalize the configuration AT THE OLD PRICES, rather than a surprise lock-in to whatever you happened to have configured on Feb 28 before they blew everything up with no warning. It sure sounds like anything that we didn't happen to have configured on that random date is now going to cost a lot more.

It just does not build trust when they pull this kind of crap.
