My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
In my TJ, it was:

1) My boards and all possible gear, plus warm clothes (extras) because there was a high potential of being stuck on 88 on the way to Kirkwood
2) A bag of goldfish crackers
3) 2 bottles of gatorade
4) My bong

In the sub-trunk I keep the following items year round:
  • Blanket
  • Gloves
  • Diapers, Wipes, and spare clothes (for my kids - I'm not that old yet )
  • Tesla Adapter
I do like the idea of adding water, I think I'll add some water bottles this evening. I really should add a coat because I never think to bring a coat, even when it is sub 0 outside.

I am pretty confident that I am not going to get stuck since I wear snow tires but I have thought about adding some sort of towing rope so I can help people stuck on the side of the road.

Tire patch kit, with manual tire pump
Large window brush
Cell phone
Wallet to rent a room at a hotel :)
Oh, and live in Michigan
I’ve been caught on the wrong side of winter road closures more times than I can count at this point, and the hotel situation is like musical chairs. You have to decide pretty quickly whether you want to try to wait out the closure or grab a room and leave the next day. Choose wrong and it will be a long night! After freezing all night the first time sleeping in my vehicle I have never not had blankets and extra clothes. Not fun!

Mild upgrades from my kit last winter:

Its a dog eat dog world out there. You don't want to know what happens when @COdogman runs out of protein bars

Edit: sorry, that was dark even for me
Protein bars + dog food + coffee = unbearable hot zone ?

The vehicle recovery items are required where I drive on the beach so I carry all year round:
Folding Shovel
Kinetic Strap/Shackles
Recovery Jack
Jack Support/Recovery board
Tire pressure gauge

Winter brush/scraper

"Bug out" type first aid/trauma/short term survival bag (more medical trauma stuff than a basic first aid kit) plus:
2 fabric blankets
4 mylar blankets
pain reliever
butane lighters
knife
50 feet paracord
2m/440 HT
Water
Water purification tablets
KIND bars

I made a kit for each of our cars and the boat, as well as my 2 adult children and their significant others cars (without the HT since they are not licensed). Be prepared! We have used the first aid stuff several times.

Man, y'all are some doomsday preppers, I feel like I need to rethink my setup here.

I like to live dangerously and drive with the windows down when its snowing. Right now, in the Rivian all I have is a half empty pack of Marlboro reds, a dull kitchen knife, 1 AA battery, some string, a box of animal crackers, and a parachute. I feel 100% confident I could make it out of any situation alive with that gear.
