I would assume for the motors/drive units specifically that they would be looking to replace them with the Enduro drive units as soon as they can crank out enough of them.Still plan on producing the Max Pack according to RJ.
Also got the idea that the R1 series electronics including drive motors and battery pack are quite outdated since he specifically mentioned updating them.
Only regarding it getting outright canceled. It doesn't shed any light on if they're on track for delivery or the capacity, payload, range, weight, charge speed, and performance of the Max Pack. We're going to get Camp Kitchened.Well, that should eliminate the max pack doubt. I wish he was interviewed more in depth about batteries. Not specifically Rivian's plans, but how they view the industry.
Funny this interview is released a few days after the October semi-lockdown on configurations.
We will know this month when the production estimates are updated. If the 1H 2023 max pack dates hold we should be good.Only regarding it getting outright canceled. Does anyone know - since the enduro motors seem to be spec'd at 300HP/300lb/ft are the future versions of a quad motor R1x expected to produce 1200HP/1200lb/ft?I would assume for the motors/drive units specifically that they would be looking to replace them with the Enduro drive units as soon as they can crank out enough of them.
Will also be interesting to see if the shareholder letter mentions anything about max pack on 9 November. We will know this month when the production estimates are updated. If the 1H 2023 max pack dates hold we should be good.
I could be wrong, but I'd assume they can just derate them in software much like they already do for modes other than Sport mode. RJ has previously claimed that Sport mode has 20% higher torque than All Purpose, for instance.Does anyone know - since the enduro motors seem to be spec'd at 300HP/300lb/ft are the future versions of a quad motor R1x expected to produce 1200HP/1200lb/ft?
Like Tesla using the same motor for three different max power settings.I could be wrong, but I'd assume they can just derate them in software much like they already do for modes other than Sport mode. RJ has previously claimed that Sport mode has 20% higher torque than All Purpose, for instance.
Source? I've never heard that Sport has 20% higher torque than all purpose. They feel the same to my butt dyno lolI could be wrong, but I'd assume they can just derate them in software much like they already do for modes other than Sport mode. I'll be so happy as long as they don't make me make concessions elsewhere.Like Tesla using the same motor for three different max power settings.
The three people asking for a faster R1 will be happy with the 1200 HP R1X.
Definitely a thing. I think the interview with 'The Chosen 10' he said it?Source? I've never heard that Sport has 20% higher torque than all purpose. They feel the same to my butt dyno lol
Four!Like Tesla using the same motor for three different max power settings.

It was nice to hear that they are still planning on releasing a larger pack for the R1S too, even though I don't plan on buying it.Still plan on producing the Max Pack according to RJ.
