RJ has previously been on the "How I Built This" Podcast it looks like they had him back on again to talk about Rivian and upcoming plans

[How I Built This with Guy Raz] Charging up the electric vehicle market with RJ Scaringe of Rivian #howIBuiltThisWithGuyRaz
https://podcastaddict.com/how-i-built-this-with-guy-raz/episode/168975029 via @PodcastAddict

Couple of notes:
- Rivian will be able to access Tesla chargers "early part of next year (2024)" - not new, but since it was mentioned summer in another thread...
- 60 RAN sites now, "hundreds" coming, and mention of "when we open our network up to all brands"

Thank you. I also enjoyed gearing RJ's read on the future of Rivian. I believe that Rivian is here to stay.

I wonder if someday we will see Rivian have support facilities around their chargers like some of the Tesla ones and the new Mercedes ones coming.

... Maybe just too broad of a business to get into. Partnering with an existing chain like Tesla and some other have done is probably better, but the locations of those stations don't really suit the EVs

Not looking forward to RAN opening up. Just such a great experience. And by great, I mean reliable, fast, open, and less expensive than all others.

We’ve got a few years of constant change in this still. Will see how it levels out In the long run.

You will see many companies opening charging stations because you can only sell a new vehicle once but you can sell electricity to all EV's daily.

In other words, charging stations are Cash Cows.

I listened to the podcast and came away even more impressed with R J's straightforward comments. He recognizing that the EV "revolution" will require more than a couple choices. We preordered our R1S in January, 2020 and the Launch Edition was delivered November, 2023. (The delay was somewhat intentional and also due to using our Escalante, Utah address. When we changed it to our San Diego address we were contacted with a month.)

We are very satisfied with the vehicle. Other than a software issue with the Rivian wall charger than was resolved by an OTA update we've had no problems.

We appreciate the overwhelming positive, informative and constructive comments made on the forum. Snarky replies are ignored and the overly critical comments are given a quick pass over. The administrators have addressed this problem.

Happy New Year to everyone on the road.

Agree 100% but I think it's inevitable. I have not tried the Tesla chargers that we can currently can use. But Rivian RAN compared to all other 3rd party chargers it's not even close.

On the plus side we will benefit from opening of the Tesla Chargers so that may cancel out.

I can’t tell from the comments. Are these positive comments about the RAN chargers?
