  1. Dent - Need repair Advice / Guidance

Thatā€™s correct. The Rivian Certified repair shops will be outrageously expensive. They are instructed to repair to factory new which means no bondo and entire panel replacements. I had a dent that was slightly smaller than yours on my R1T and I was quoted a price of $5,200 from a Certified...
  2. Affordable high efficiency 20" wheels and 33" tires options (275/60R20)

I am sure this has been covered already. I am still a bit confused as to why the treads are suggesting a tire size different than the 20ā€ AT Pirelliā€™s. If itā€™s efficiency gains it just feels like the impacts to speedometer readings and range isnā€™t worth any potential gains. There are plenty...
  3. Fisker Ocean review: ouch

I have owned by R1T since March of 2022 so almost 2 years. While there was a need for added features that have been accomplished through monthly updates the software that came with it was just fine. A responsive screen and not glitchy so I wouldnā€™t say the experiences are comparable.
  4. Neener, Neener, Neener... Windshield Washer Fluid by Genuine Chemistry

Thanks for the link. I went to buy it and they wanted over $40 to ship to Houston. Iā€™ll pass!
  5. R1S rear ended badly. Taken to certified Rivian collision shop

Thatā€™s absolutely right. I had what I considered a very minor dent in the back of my R1T and a Certified shop in Houston quoted me $5,500 to fix it. I was outraged. I ended up buying a replacement taillight on EBay for $250 ($600 from Rivian) and I got the entire dent, including the cost of...
  6. RJ Scaringe Mentions Tesla Supercharger Access Timing & Opening RAN Chargers to All Brands -- on "How I Built This" Podcast

I canā€™t tell from the comments. Are these positive comments about the RAN chargers?
  7. Free LTE Connectivity to end this month

That seems a bit extreme. So you would get rid of your Rivian if they charged you a fee of $100 a year or perhaps a bit more?
  8. Afraid To Use Driver+

    You Makes perfect sense.
  9. Afraid To Use Driver+

Good point. I actually took deliver in March of 2022. I was one of a small handful in Houston that received one that early. I will give it another shot but this time when there is no construction going on.
  10. Afraid To Use Driver+

Yeah it was a mistake to try to use in an area where there was some construction even though it was relatively minor. Houston is notorious for taking forever to complete construction and it is underway on most of the freeways in the city and surrounding areas.
  11. Afraid To Use Driver+

It was. Bad wording on my part.
  12. Afraid To Use Driver+

I have had my Rivian R1T since March 22. A few days later I tried out Driver+ for the first time on I-1O about 30 miles west of Houston. There was a bit of construction in the area but everything was going fine until the vehicle took a very sharp turn towards the concrete barrier. I had to...
  13. This guy gets it - "Cybertruck looks insane, but holding out for Rivian R2"

I find it interesting that all the article Iā€™ve read about the Cybertruck talk about the starting price of $60K and a 0-60 of less than 3 seconds. First of all who knows when if ever you will see that version. Even if you do it will have a range of 250 miles and a 0-60 of 6.5 seconds. Who...
  14. Powered Tonneau Curveball

Iā€™m with you. I have purposely stopped using mine even though it has worked fine when I have had to use it. Rivian knows itā€™s a flawed design and all of them should be replaced otherwise itā€™s bound to malfunction at some point with the risk that it does so after the warranty expires. They...
  15. List of compatible tires (for each Rivian factory wheel diameter)

Sorry I misunderstood. I didnā€™t realize the issue was going from 21ā€ wheels to 20ā€.
  16. List of compatible tires (for each Rivian factory wheel diameter)

I donā€™t understand. Why would this be better than choosing the same size as the 20ā€ OEM Pirelliā€™s?
  17. No OTA for tire size changes

When I have to change out my 20ā€ Pirellis and purchase a tire set with the same diameter will I still need to take my R1T to the service center for a recalibration?
  18. Checked out the Volvo EX90 - initial impressions

How often do you use fast chargers? On the few times a year I take my R1T on a long road trip the extra 10 minutes or so doesnā€™t seem like a big deal to me. I charge at home so slightly slower charge times is a non-event.
