My first thought was, I hope he didn't hit the side panels!
Luckily the steel swing arm for my bike rack was on but the rack wasn't. It blocked his van from hitting my bumper and punched a hole through his grille. I got away with a small scuff and scratch from the swing arm flexing into the bumper.
I drive my R1T with ball and hitch on permanently for just that reason.I got rear ended this week by someone reading an email.
