My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
Thanks! Ordered. I have been muttering about this at home for some time, but we didn’t have a point fine enough to do the trick.

Yeah, the black-on-black is a very stupid design by Rivian. I don't know why they did it like that. Makes it impossible to see what you're pressing without staring at the fob for 5+ seconds.

funny my fob has been in the drawer since I took delivery, never use it, literally never. A lot of companies do the black on black because with constant use the paint wears off.
To all those who don't want your FOB - I will take it off your hands. I will even pay for the shipping. I love my FOBs.

My wife was constantly complaing about not being able to see what button she needed to press;
Just tell her that’s part of the adventure!

Yeah, a lot of us have been doing this for more than a year now - plenty of posts showing how to do this with a variety of paint-like materials.

I think part of this may have been the pandemic supply chain problems. Remember that they couldn't source the two-tone all-weather floor mats and had to ship them all black? I think the same thing happened with the FOBs, where they probably designed them to be molded with a second color for highlighting, but found it to be too costly or have too long a timeline so they pivoted to just one color material for cost and supply efficiency.

thats cool and i get that its hard to see but how hard is it to remember the location of the buttons? it took me a week of use to memorize it and i can open it while keeping it in my pocket. just like i have with all my other key fobs from other manufacturers.

do you guys actually look at the buttons when you need to press?

There's a raised notch on unlock. No need to be able to read braille.
