Picked this up today. Got it through auction house for a crazy-low $30K. So far only taken to CA DMV for license & registration (and sales tax). Going to do a couple trial stays in campgrounds in Laguna Mnt nearby San Diego. Will be taking it with the Rivian to Overland Expo Mnt. West outside Denver, CO at end of this month. Will post pics with pop-top raised and interior soon.

You cannot buy direct (unless you have a license)
Used a broker out of Dallas but any should be able.
Worked out incredibly well being only 20 miles away

When I picked it up there were 5 or 6 more on the lot

Looks like an awesome overlanding trailer. Just curious - what's the list price?
These OBI Dwellers have a bit of controversy on resale pricing. Many instances in the past two years of new units selling for way high 30's into the low 50 thousands. Yes that's a wide range. Recently OBI "dumped" excess 2022 inventory into auction houses with deals as good as mine.
Crazy thing is that its not because these Dwellers are garbage - quite the opposite in-fact. Check out all the YouTube reviews with glowing admiration for the rugged construction and quality components. You can easily pay well over $30K for many "adventure teardrops" and won't get 300W solar, 300 AmpHr battery and 2kW Inverter included. Unit is 'boondock' ready right out of the box.

I design trailers and this is awesome. Not my cup of tea but awesome. I'm more of a "build the front aero to fit behind the footprint of the Rivian" type because of the range impacts which will subtract from a lot of the creature comforts (that aren't needed unless you're living in your trailer year round imho) so I get that it's just a different product so no criticism.

That being said, what kind of range impacts are they seeing? I'd have to imagine like 1.3 mi/kWh at (low) highway speeds with that aero.

I plan on towing a Uhaul car trailer back from Atlanta to NJ and it’ll probably weight around 5700 lbs, do you know if a weight distribution mount is necessary? The Rivian R1S & R1T manual both say anything over 5,000 lbs needs a weight distribution hitch but wasn’t sure if that was actually necessary

Don't know yet but do plan to report details after my round-trip from San Diego up to Expo north of Denver towards end of August. Will learn a great deal after going both directions in terms of significant uphill vs. downhill range impact. I intend to use cruise control as much as possible and set speed to 60 mph even when limit is higher.

Totally apologize for giving a nuanced view, congratulations it is just an awesome frigging thing you have there. I thought this was just like, "look at this that just came out paired to a Rivian."

Please ignore me, I am an extreme personality type and no one even makes the product I'm alluding to wanting.

Do want to hear about the range though and can't wait, congrats and good luck.

That thing is a beast ! Range killer, but nice. Pulling behind the S will be better than a T would be though just in aero considerations. Very nice ...

Plan to wheel match? Not only is it cool as heck but it provides spare solutions to the obvious R1S lack of solution, especially since that thing lugs 2.
