Got pulled over a couple years ago by a cop claiming he was concerned about my tint. I have my doubts that that was the actual reason he pulled me over but tint was in spec. Supposedly is part of annual inspection as well but guess is unlikely to be routinely, if ever, checked. In any case, 30% is plenty for me.

Guess one good thing about NJ, only emissions is inspected once a year here. Have my Tesla model 3 for five years now, and my R1T for almost a year. Never needed a "State inspection"

Picking up my R1S tomorrow, first stop PPF and Tinting. Interested on the Pano Roof tinting. I tinted my Lightning and not my Model Y. I think here in Texas (especially the last several weeks) tinting the roof is a must.

I haven't tinted the roof yet and, so far, haven't felt like I would need to. I may still change my mind before the summer is over.

At these temps would anyone have concerns washing the pano roof? I can just see cold water on the hot roof glass causing cracks. I'm probably just paranoid.

I'm scared to ask what the "3 bucket method" is? I don't do anything complex when I was my cars and I'm not a stickler about it. I just hose it down, scrub the car with soap/wax combo in 1/4's, rinse, then park in the garage. I don't even hand dry, any water spots that appear I just wipe away with a microfiber cloth later.

All buckets should have dirt traps at the bottom.

one bucket for wheels, one to rinse your dirty wash mitt and one for soap/suds.

Do you get a little visual distortion/clarity issues with the front tinted? I noticed since mine was done with XR Prime 70% I can move my head in a vertical plane and notice a little wavy-ness/distortion.

This is the data I was looking for glad you did this. I want to tint my R1S but got a quote for $1200 for all glass, including the roof. Seems like a lot but with that much temp delta may be worth it
