The fact that we haven't seen a delivery window update yet means in my mind that RIVIAN doesn't have a handle on supply chain and their production volume as a consequence to have enough confidence to predict timing well enough.

The last thing they want to do is launch a delivery window tool or update that isn't realistic and that results in expectations not being met which would make them look bad. In RIVIAN's calculations (and my own) it is better to not have a tool than to have a tool that is going to be wrong and lead to more backlash.

Realistically, I think they are likely to only know delivery windows for the near term (1-3 months).

If you haven't gotten any information my working assumption is you are much more than 3 months out of delivery.

While we as potential customers would like delivery windows, at this point, it just gives Rivian a target to miss and disappoint us, the customers. With no real reward for Rivian, other than giving us arbitrary targets, that will inevitably be missed, with things that may or may not be under their control. And that could lead to cancelations after people start cross shopping for whatever is available first, and more cancelations after some miss their delivery date, and others cancelling because others they know or read about have missed their delivery timing. It's unfortunate, but I don't think they can really somewhat accurately predict delivery at this point, and least more than a few months out. Best we can hope for is a production rate, and projected timeline when the different trims will be made (max pack/dual motor/regular battery). And for a lot of us, delivery also depends on service centers up and running. For me, I think the closest ones are Brooklyn and Rockville, both about 2.5 hours away, which is less than ideal. I have accepted my projected 4th Quarter 2022 delivery won't happen, and will probably go Max pack, which I don't think will affect my actual timing if they start delivering max packs 1st half 2023. I am starting to prefer the max pack, but am not locked in on it. I am also ok waiting a little bit as Rivian irons out some issues (which are to be expected for a startup)

I'd put money on the feature coming to the account page just ahead of earnings on May 11.

Not my money, but someone's money.
I had just pinged a CS a couple of days ago to ask about if my window was updated or not. I was informed my window was still the same, and the website feature won't be available for "at least a couple more months."

The online delivery planning tool was originally promised to be rolled out “early 2022,” whatever that meant, then the pricing fiasco happened and evidently a bunch of the it resources were diverted to fixing that mess. Ever since the most anyone has been able to get out of css on this topic has been that it will be available “in the coming months.”
