I’m wondering if anyone else is noticing uneven tire wear due to towing? I’ve got about 2,000km on my tires towing a 5,000lb trailer with about 650lbs tongue weight. Loaded up we are pretty close to GVWR. Tonight while charging I was idly looking at my rear tires and noticed an apparent splay outwards and less tread depth on the inside from outside on my OEM 20” AT tires. I looked closer and ‘measured’ with a can tab I had on-hand and sure enough the inner block of treads were significantly worn compared to the two middle blocks and especially the outer block!

I only run my suspension in Standard while towing. I have used Low a bit when commuting to work, but only about 10% of the time. I do use Conserve/Standard about 30-40% of the time when not towing, and I do notice my fronts have less tread, but they are wearing evenly.

I have a rotation scheduled for Tuesday - should I have them to a cross and re-mount so that the inner edge ends up on the outer?

What do you think I might do to avoid wear like this in the future on my rear tires?

Thx for your thoughts!

I’ve got over 20,000 miles, about 7000 towing a ~4500 lb trailer, another ~2000 towing a ~8000 lb. Still on my original factory 20” tires, no rotation yet. Almost always tow in Low suspension, only use Conserve on long stretches of highway not towing.

Just checked and don’t see any uneven wear.

We tow our 6500 lb/ 800lb tongue weight trailer in low. We do this because our weight distribution bars were installed to match the low setting. we have towed about 1500 miles (not a lot) and our factory 21s have 21k total and had a rotation last week and I’m a little over half way thru tread life. No wear differences between front and back.

Thx for the input thus far - sounds like my issue originated somewhere else…
