If you order one of the "in stock" Rivians, when do you receive your trade in value? If you don't approve of this value, can you cancel the order and receive a refund on your deposit? Thanks!

You can ask for a trade valuation that’s good for 30 days or 1000 miles. I just did it about a week ago - call or text Rivian customer service and they’ll get back with you in a few days. If you have a Rivian you’re trading in, the value will be decent. If not, you’re probably gonna get relatively low offer. It looks like you have to make your non refundable deposit before you discuss trade information with them. I don't love the idea of losing a deposit if the trade value isn't what I want/need.

Looking at trading in my S, so I would be interested in what you find. Thanks for that info. It's a Tesla Model S.
Yes, I would much rather trade in that hassle with selling myself, etc. Not to mention the tax savings from a trade. My main question is...if I don't like the trade value they offer, can I get my deposit back?Trade-ins are always less than market, but there's the convenience factor. If your time is valuable and you don't have hours to spend posting ads online, replying to bone-head inquiries like "Will you take XYZ (40% less than what you're asking)", hosting viewing and test driving sessions, filling out paperwork and going to the DMV to do the transfer, then a trade might be worth it. I'm sure that if I was willing to put in the work, I could have sold my highly modified 2016 4Runner for about $26-28k, but I ended up trading it in with Rivian for about $24,200. For reference, that's on par with what Edmunds lists as its value and about 3k more than Carvana offered me. I spent the next two weeks before my trade-in/R1S delivery Day polishing everything and making sure that Rivain wouldn't have any reason to deduct anything based on their inspection of my vehicle. Wounld they care about the aftermarket suspension and lift? Will the tires rub at full lock in reverse? Is that crack by the headrest in the back row an issue? When Delivery Day arrived, I parked my 4Runner outside of the Rivian facility and went in to do the paperwork (about 5 minutes of signing docs on an iPad). The Rivian rep walked out to my car with me, inserted the keys to check the odometer reading, and then proceeded directly to remove my license plate for transfer to my new R1S. Nobody even checked to see if it would start. Couldn't have been easier.
I'm not sure what they are offering for Teslas, but the trade-in process was totally worth it for me.
I don’t think soYes, I would much rather trade in that hassle with selling myself, etc. Not to mention the tax savings from a trade. My main question is...if I don't like the trade value they offer, can I get my deposit back?
Showroom = What? Service Center? Rivian Space?BLUF: you can get trade in value before making a deposit.
I went to the showroom and the sales person was able to get me a trade in value right there before I did anything online, including before making a deposit. They told me to go ahead and do the online trade in process and if the value came in less than what was quoted at the showroom they’d override it. The online trade was 2k less than quoted, they overrode it and I ended up getting about 10% more than any other trade in offer I’d gotten.
Showroom= whatever it's called where they show the vehicles (not the service center), Rivian Space I guess? I'd gone to the Denver flavor of this location.Showroom = What? Service Center? Rivian Space?
I don't think Rivian is allowed to call anything a "showroom" in the northwest, so I'm confused.
Sounds as if you figured out a great process!
We're selling 2017 Kia and 2019 Bolt, both with Spikes-Spider winter traction on all four wheels. The Spikes-Spiders are worth maybe $1000 per car, and we don't want the hassle of selling them separately. We're not in a hurry to sell though -- we have plenty of parking spaces....
Best wishes!
