My people.
Said as someone with two years worth of curious looks pulling a tandem axle dump trailer behind a 90D Model X around Vermont. Most of the time we are within the 5k ratings on both the trailer and vehicle. Other times, not.

yeah well the model x has this penis like hitch you shove up the rear and held on by 2 small ball bearings...its tongue weight is a 120 lbs. i was actually afraid to pull anything with that as i felt like that hitch was going to pop right out and down.

so i pulled the boat and trailer 65 miles and what a hassle...in conserve mode before i started towing was 230 miles left and in towing mode it said 85 miles...i lost 150 miles just buying putting it in tow mode...well i had to go 65 miles with 85 miles left but i thought the number was accurate to some point.

well it wasnt and with 13 miles to go i had 2 percent battery left (thats 2 miles in tow mode and 7 miles in conserve mode) so i park the trailer and drive 40mph to my lvl3 charger. yes ive done many tests past 0 range and i would say i could comfortably get 8 miles past 0 but never driven it till it died. i made it with ease lol which was 6 miles past 0 in case any of you guys are in this predicament.

long story short in conserve mode i can drive 350 miles, but towing this oversized boat and trailer in tow mode i get 90 if im lucky. but i would have to say towing this thing was a breeze as far as being able to control the load but i didnt drive past 60mph...tongue weight was probably right at 1100lbs while the load was in the 14k range.

I agree - the phallic hitch didn't last long. Most of my towing was with a non-removable aftermarket hitch. And the range is, indeed, atrocious if you try for highway speeds. Ask me how I know that you can pull-charge a MX going at least 45 mph with said trailer still attached. I will soon investigate the 1S' equivalent capabilities so I know what to expect when plans go south.

Yeah man... Rivan needs to fix the towing range estimate or just F***ING TURN IT OFF. It's beyond inaccurate.

With that boat, I'd estimate no more than 1mi/% at 65mph.

DO NOT USE CONSERVE WHILE TOWING - it's going to give you at most 1mi more range and you'll EAT your front tires.

Nice!

With that long trailer tour rear tires didn't even get wet, that's great!
Yeah there was definitely a little algae in the water so made sure I didn't go in too deep. I was shocked though at how easily it just crept up the steep ramp. I had my dad bring his navigator in case he had to pull me up but once I was going back into the water there was no doubt I would get up and out easily.

This truck is so capable and does most things with such ease.

Agreed!

It tows boats like they're not even there.. .so smooth and powerful it's actually completely stress-less towing our boat now.

NFW would this be attempted out of a short in the yard move only.

NFW on an open road, NFW on a boat ramp launch and retrieve.

I'm not a namby pamby with towing either, including larger boats.

Glad it worked out, I guess.
