Tire maintenance - Best Practices

Newbie - Just picked up my R1S on 11/17. Living on this forum now. ?

I have 21 “ wheels. Looking for best practices to get longest tread life.

Proper inflation - Clearly keep properly inflated at 48 PSI per the door spec tag. Question on that one. Checking my knowledge. PSI should be measured when the tires are cold – sitting and not after driving correct? Also, I set at 48 PSI this weekend and now I am watching the PSI as I drive, get up to 51/52 after driving and on highway. IS that normal?

Proper Rotation - It looks like somewhere between 5,000 and 6,000 miles is what most are saying here. Any other tips and or tricks. Anyone know if Mobile RIVIAN service can do tire rotation or does it have to be done at a service center? The closest one is over 2 hours one way for me. I see many discussions on discount tire agreement/arrangement with RIVAIN and having pucks, etc. Any experiences here?

Keep ride height on standard vice auto.

Who is going to rotate the tires? Rivian? If I ask them to, it will be 10,000+ miles before I can get an appointment. It sucks they’ve not given guidance here.

Inflation - yes, 48PSI cold. They warm up and air expands when the car starts to move.
Rotation - Honestly you can do this whenever you want, based on your tolerance. Traditionally, you're supposed to rotate front to back (that's how I do it, there's multiple ways) when the difference in tread depth is 2/32". You'd need a tread depth gauge for this (linked). But if you want to keep it simple, sure, 6k rotations is fine.

Any tire shop can do rotations. No need to even involve Rivian if you don't want. Just make sure you have the jack pucks with you since Rivian's are different from Tesla's (also linked). So a tire shop may not have them. Or just do it in your garage like me . I know I know, my assumption is you probably don't have the tools, so any tire shop works, or Rivian too.

Yes Rivian mobile service is performing rotations at your home although they request a covered area to perform the work safely. Cost for a 4 tire rotation was $60

I check tread depth once per week. I only rotate if there is greater than 1/32nd difference between front and rear tread depth. I'm just crossing 10k mark in my R1T today. Have not rotated yet but have service scheduled for 12/12 and will likely request it then.

48psi cold. Check at least once per month. More frequently as seasons change (hotter temps increase it and lower temps decrease it).

I just did a 5 tire rotation at America’s Tire (AKA Discount Tire) for free - took 45 min tops. Apparently Rivian has some sort of contract with them, though I’ve been going there for years and I assume my cost is associated with being a long time customer - for sure I’ll bring getting new tires there when it’s time.
