The train has left Normal! Updates from Guide (Oct 12)

I received a text from my Guide this morning, and he said that the truck will be at the South SF SC next week!

I’ll wrap up the 8 steps over the weekend. Financing a portion of it so that’ll be the long-pole (BofA).

Congrats! I have reason to believe my R1T is on that same train but I'm picking up at the Sacramento SC. It's been absolute crickets from my guide since I got the VIN on 9/30 so I'm tracking your progress as a hopeful timeline lol.

I did get my wall charger delivered last Saturday so that's another data point for hoping my truck went out with that group.

This is total conjecture but from watching the timing of the r1t early deliveries it seems like it’s the same train that goes through so cal first and then loops up north to hit ssf and sac.

I agree. It seems to go to SoCal first then SF and the vehicles seem to get to Sac last.

So @BPN keep us updated on when the Service Center confirms arrival so we know ours has made it to California.

I saw another thread (which I inconveniently cannot find now) where someone took some pics of the SSF service center last night with several R1Ss lined up. Could be the shipment! Unsure though if it's an earlier one that they're still doing PDI on. I will try to locate and link.

I believe my R1T is on that same train from Normal that left last Tuesday. My guide said that last Monday it was in the Normal factory getting ready for shipment and 2 days later he told me it was in transit. I stopped by the San Diego SC today to inquire about upcoming deliveries and the guy there told me they have no idea when the next trucks are arriving and that they have no way to track them. Crazy. Ford tells you what train and what train car your vehicle is in and you can track it at CSX.com. Maybe they will get better at this in the future. I would assume that somewhere along the train route the SoCal cars and the NorCal cars get separated onto different trains, but I am not sure how the routing works. I read on another thread that the train shipping takes between 7-14 days so we should be close.

Ford tells you what train and what train car your vehicle is in and you can track it at CSX.com. Maybe they will get better at this in the future.

^^ this. I was thinking between the geolocation and network tracking they already have on the vehicles and the rail tracking info they get from the shipper, it should be pretty easy for us to know exactly where the vehicles are in their journey ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I agree. Either they are just not dialed in yet with giving out this information or they are just not wanting to set expectations. More info would certainly make happier customers. But lets just hope that in the next week or two we won't have to worry about it anymore

Also curious about this because it seems like some SoCal deliveries have been made that appeared to start from that same train departure.

i got my vin on oct 4th. i’m in so cal. my steps show 8 preparing. my rep says it’s on the train… hopefully us so cal people will get a schedule soon?

Same here...I'm in the LA region and rep keeps stating its still on the train. I got my Vin assigned Sept 30th.

I spoke with my Guide today, and he still thinks my truck is going to arrive to the South SF SC this week. It just shows “in transit” now. I’m still hopeful that it’ll be in my driveway in the next week or so.

Also hopeful about taking delivery next week but I'm not even going to check with my guide because I'm astounded at how little information they can offer about it's impending arrival.
