I would open a ticket with Rivian anyway, in case is a software fix that needs to be pushed, they will have you on the list... if not, at least they know is getting widespread.

Aha. As I pondered this AM, I wondered if the 12V was on the way out. They should be able to dispatch mobile service and be done in 1 hour.

Done. I'm at Gaithersburg SC now. Hanging out here for the next few hours. They got rid of the power outlet in the lobby, which is kind of silly considering even the employees need to work out here and should have a power strip. But at least the WiFi is working this time.

They're going to do my 12V today. Nice that they bump those up on priority. I declined the tow but it was nail-biting being stuck in beltway traffic to get here. I've shown some of the videos and they do not seem to have heard of this issue yet:

• Taillights blinking every 10-15 seconds
• Relay clicking under dash
• Vehicle not going to sleep / high vampire drain

Hopefully between now and whenever they finish my 12V they can learn more about the other issue. Fingers crossed!


Edit: So the first issue I noticed, and I didn't think anything of it -- a couple days ago I noticed my camp speaker chiming that its battery was low. So the speaker wasn't charging. I chalked that up as "those things suck, anyway". But maybe a first indicator of issues, fwiw.

I think this is caused by the drain of the battery due to the blinking lights issue and staying awake than backwards.

My camp speaker is sitting in my night table, so this is not an issue for me

Well, the guy is also saying "the UI in my truck is slow", and that it's related to the USB flash drive (it's this one). I've never noticed that, prior to this battery issue. Still nada from Rivian about the other stuff. This is a little weird, like one of those dealer claims "it's not us, it's your aftermarket equipment". But I'll try testing without it if it's still blink-blink-blinking, after this...

Same issue for me started late Friday evening

• Vehicle wouldn't sleep
• Relay clicking somewhere under dash when unoccupied
• Taillights blinking
• High VD
• Also noticed driver seat abnormally warm after being unoccupied for several hours in the garage
• 12V battery alert Sunday evening

Truck is now at the service center (grand opening of the Hayward, CA location!). They're starting with a 12V battery replacement. We'll see if it's anything more than a 12V battery failure.

Yeah. My camp speaker was removed from my truck long ago. As this blinking issue is happening to so many, at roughly the same time, I figure it must be related to something Rivian sent out over the air. As such, they should be able to correct this issue the same way. If not rectified in short order, it will affect my travel and camping plans for the coming week or so I’m also concerned about any negative impact it may have on the infamous 12v battery longevity, even though mine is relatively new.

I tend to agree. Had no obvious issues with the 12V prior to all the clicking and blinking nonsense.

Warranty on the 12V batteries is 3 years / 36,000 miles. Just adding that info to the thread.
