I see this thread is focused on the R1T, but I’m interested in learning of anyone has added or replaced the subwoofer in an R1S yet?

I see this on Facebook, which is an option I’ll explore. I can’t share the Facebook link due to the group’s privacy restrictions.

For those who have removed the OEM subwoofer, did you capture any dimensions of the void, where the existing hardware was located? I'm trying to figure out (without disassembling my truck) what kind of space exists currently, if the OEM sub were to be removed and replaced with an aftermarket unit.

Update. I had local installation pros connect the aforementioned subwoofer, mimicking whats shown in the Facebook post, and it sounds amazing! I don’t have the spare donut tire, but would plan to by end of summer. Meanwhile, I’ve just used the cargo organizers to keep it from sliding around. I’ve trusted a few of my cars to these installers and if you’re in Denver, I highly recommend them. Message me if you’re interested.

As did I, they flat out said they have no plans. Booooo
Time to learn how to fiberglass! I think I'm going to keep mine stock for this summer though at least - with the windows down or cracked I typically have the volume around ~20 which is coincidentally when the subwoofer actually starts producing decent bass. Maybe this winter it can be a 'learn to fiberglass' project for me

Here's a link to an R1S specific thread where someone has replaced the stock 10" sub.

Wonder what the specs for that stock R1T “sub” are…. Could it be as simple as keeping the existing wiring and building a bigger box with a 6 or 8 inch sub?

It would be interesting to put an IB sub into the gear tunnel passthrough.

Did you ever look more into this? I was thinking this same thing, even if only 150 watts is used from the stock amp an 8 will be enough for me a 10 would be awesome.

I never got too far into it, didn’t get anywhere trying to find out the specs of the meridian sub. Made sense in my head to find a more efficient sub with similar power rating and putting it in a bigger custom box.

Still no progress here on a simple sub replacement for the existing space in the R1T?

I installed an Audio Control LC2i Pro and 500 Watt Rockford Fosgate amp to power my 12" Fosgate sub. Problem is I am not getting any sound. I tapped into the stock 6x9 sub in back and that is going into the LC2 and then RCas to the amp. I have a remote connected and everything turns on, just no sound. I have tried new RCAs and checked all wiring and everything is hooked up correctly. Anyone else experience this and if so what was the fix?

This may be a dumb question, but are you absolutely certain the RCAs are connected in the correct ports between the LC2i and the amplifier? I would first try to disconnect the remote, then check voltage at the speaker terminals at the amp. Also, what are your settings on the LC2i?

Yes, there are only 2 different places to put them and they are right. I even tried other RCAs. I checked all speaker terminals on LC2 and amp, no voltage. I even checked for voltage on the 6x9 speaker while it was playing and it did not register anything. So perhaps my multimeter does not register such a low voltage. I ordered another better one to use for this. I have also tried the different load settings on the LC2 and it is turning on ok with audio or remote so no issue there.
