In my neck of the woods the average listing price for an Adventure Trim R1T with 21 or 22" wheels is $119,000.

That is unlikely to be sustainable, especially as production ramp increases. We've seen a steady decline in what people are willing to pay since the first R1Ts started rolling off the assembly line, but I think the value will be at least 20-25% over MSRP through 2023.

You have to ask yourself is that profit margin, after taxes, the loan interest, the hassle, worthwhile to you or not.

I doubt a flip is going to be worth it for a Q4 2021! The market on these things is already dropping, by the time a Q4 2021 rolls out and you factor in tax/registration/etc.. meh.

If you look at the spreadsheet of deliveries here on the forum you will see quite a few Q4 2021 reservations already enjoying their trucks. Seems crazy but it’s happening.

I've always had a much easier time selling specialty vehicles, colors, etc than mainstream vehicles/configurations. Less competition seems to equal quicker sales times. Maybe yellow with OC or FE? If there isn't much demand, brighter colors often get discontinued, further increasing their rarity and value.

Probably a R1S since they have so few deliveries.

The most valuable configuration will be the most rare.

Exterior color: I would say RB and CY since they have the highest markup.
Interior: OC for sure since it is rare and post-March 1 costs $$
Wheels: Probably 20's since they are in demand and also cost $$

Not being a CPA, just wondering if I were to flip the Rivian, would I still qualify for the $7500 tax credit (price was just under $80k)? I would assume I would and that the new buyer could qualify for the used $4000 tax cred. I've written my CPA with the same question, but figured I'd pose it here as well. Thanks

Think I’m gonna have to sell my reservation, mainly because I don’t think I’m gonna qualify for the tax credit. How does one go about selling a reservation? I haven’t gotten a delivery window yet but order from Q4 2021 so locked into the old pricing arrangement.

Did you sign the binding agreement before August 16th? If so I think you will still qualify for credit under older limits (Correct me if I am wrong...that's my understanding)

If you had the truck in hand today and it was loaded you might be able to sell it for $110-120k but they are starting to really ramp production so I'm not sure it will matter. There's really no advantage to buying your reservation even if you could sell it.

Bingo. As many have said, it's no longer possible to sell your place in line, transfer it to another name. 1. Get the earliest delivery available in the Rivian Shop. 2. Buy it. 3. Sell it for $99K and ROLL-ON......

lol why are you calling that crazy? $100k is basically the new MSRP for the R1T quad motor and it has a wait list. A ton of people would be willing to pay over MSRP to skip the line.
