same here mainly for car wash mode, or just add in autofold mirrors when invoking car wash

It also won't enable car wash mode, but it pulls up the context menu that's a single touch to do it.

I tried that and it put the words "period" and "question mark" in my text.

This was wild to see when I did it... I understand it's version 1.0 but that seems like something any doofus involved in the development of this should have been able to account for... If it's not capable of inferring punctuation from tone, etc, at least let the user speak it they way other systems do.

Exact same thing happened with me. I have message notifications turned on. I was able to send a text via Assistant, which sent fine. But the response I got back a few seconds later only showed up on my phone, I never got a notification from Assistant that I got a text message.

For me, a notification does sound, although it was very faint. You need to turn the volume for the Rivian assistant.

1. On the main display tap on the volume icon.
2. Tap the upper right corner next to whatever number is displayed, you can control volumes.
3. Tap on the Rivian icon for Rivian assistant and turn that up. This raises the volume for Rivian assistant and the notifications received. Problem — The next time you use Assistant it’s gonna be loud. You have to find some middle ground.
4. A popup message appears for incoming text messages on the middle display in front of you as well, but it’s brief.
   
   Rivian needs to implement a fixed notification, maybe at the top of the center display, perhaps within the notification icon.

I’m sure time will tell, but asking if anyone knows or I missed the documentation - how long is memory saved and do we have to say “commit to memory” for certain attributes we want collected?

For instance when asking for suggestions for coffee shops near me the assistant replied with a highly rated one, however upon arrival, turns out it was closed (which was fine - wasn’t that far way)

I then instructed the assistant to check open/close times before giving me suggestions which worked great for the next coffee shop suggestion - I want to know if this will be used for all other sessions or just that current one?

I specifically asked RA if it could just automatically read me incoming text messages so I didn’t have to do the 3-step text message dance:

“Hey rivian”
“Read incoming text message”

Ray told me it could not do what I requested, it needs specific authorization to read each individual message.

It’s probably an industry standard to keep AI out of communications unless specifically allowed. Maybe even a regulation? It should be, I don’t want every AI reading every text message and deciding what can be read out, what can just be deleted before the user even knows, what gets sent to homeland security. It would be nice to have a privacy setting where you could allow severe intrusion but that gate probably needs to stay locked.
And a more mundane situation, some people don’t want texts read aloud depending on the passengers. Even a big notification could be a problem “hey honey why aren’t you listening to that text message the Rivia said you just got? And who is Lolita?”

I liked that I was able to ask "Hey Rivian, what appointments does my dog have next week?" and it told me about his day care/group play session at the local trainer That calendar entry has zero mention of the word dog.

I'll continue to have fun with this while it kind of remains a nonsense feature.

No luck selecting vent preset A/B. I left feedback via RA. Hopefully we'll get that capability in the future. That and music app playlist support.

It has nothing to with it not being safe to vent the windows when driving. Most likely is related to the Assistant's reliability and, in some cases, ensuring that someone from outside the car can't gain unauthorized entry to the vehicle. I am hoping that they are just erring on the side of caution until they have more confidence in the Assistant's ability to understand and respond to prompts correctly.

I was in the car and it was in drive mode and the assistant said it wasn't "safe" to vent the windows when I tried. The app can vent the windows on a parked car. I never understood why you could not vent the windows when in drive mode with the app either. The only other option is to slightly open one window at a time which seems much more dangerous to me.

I’d like full text conversations from the connected phone to be recalled, Not just the current drive conversation.
Also, punctuation seems to be a problem.

Yes. Needs to have texting history and needs to allow me to dictate appropriately. When I say “question mark” or “period” I don’t mean the word, I mean the grammatical symbol.

It can’t open specific playlists on Apple Music. I ask it to open a playlist called “alpha” and all it does is start playing g some random music from artists I’ve never heard of.

you literally need to be thinking outside the box here. perhaps a safety edge case but consider someone standing outside your vehicle with a bullhorn saying that....

Or your kid while you’re in the car wash.

So now that 2026.15 is out, what works, and what doesn't work? What do you wish it could do, that's not quite in the inaugural release?

For me, one of the biggest QOL changes would be to "turn on/off rear accessory mode." It's something I always forget to do, and then takes 4-5 taps while driving to trigger, so a simple voice command to turn it on and off would be great. But right now, it just reads 2-3 paragraphs about how to enable the 120v outlets.

Hoping they address current bugs first. Performance of text messaging is quite poor for me. It misses much of what I say (yes, I wait to speak until after the tones signaling it’s listening). Also, I really need it to reply to group texts, please. Finally, the agent is still overly verbose despite the “minimal” setting.
