Has anyone explored this yet, either doing it yourself or requesting it from service? Ocean coast looks so much better with the lighter grills. I asked my guide about it, but she didn’t know and hasn’t followed up.

I had service replace a dented grill I’ve had since delivery; I left with the understanding that the grill is integrated with the speaker, I.e. they replace the entire speaker, and not just the grill.

I spoke with service about it. They said they are not offering cosmetic replacement, paid or unpaid, at this time, only if there’s an issue with the installed covers. Likely due to supply constraints. ☹

I got a low 15k vin. Was so happy that had lighter grills, first time in a long time wanted silver/chrome over black lol. Good luck, hopefully they can take care of you in future.

Hopefully you got a powered tonneau? I have to wait for some type of manual contraption.

Thanks! IMO since they advertised OC as having lighter grills all along they should replace them as a courtesy, but I’d be willing to pay a reasonable amount.

Yeah, I guess that’s the trade-off. This truck does have a (broken) powered tonneau.

Rivian has stated this all along. "Options, specs and pricing may change as we approach production. We'll contact you to review any updates to your preferred configuration. View your pre order agreement"

They don't owe anyone a cosmetic change as a courtesy.

I don’t recall saying they did, but they never once showed dark speaker grills in any marketing images or prototypes of OC. It was a complete surprise to those who took early OC deliveries, and they’ve obviously course-corrected since.

As a courtesy or even a paid option for consistency and goodwill they should offer it.

IMO they should != Rivian owes it to us

What is it with people on this forum and their reading comprehension… so awful.

Rivian owed you a vehicle that performs as advertised and is free of defects. They owe it to you to remedy any defects through warrenty, but it selfish to think they owe you cosmetic fixes. They will likely have the parts and bandwidth to fix you up in the future though. They are a freakin' start-up that needs all the focus, determination, luck, and support from all of us to succeed. Not petty gripes. IMO.

Cool, and when your Black Mountain reservation shows up with an Ocean Coast airbag cover I’m sure you’ll be just as forgiving.

I’ll never understand why so many of you are such ardent defenders of Rivian’s mistakes.
