I got mine yesterday. I had an R1T First Mile about a year ago. I am 1/2 hour from San Francisco. They did *not* give me the option of doing this from my home, but SF service center is fairly close.

ive contacted CS at least 7-8 times about this - told to wait. and i just contacted CS about R1S test drives and the agent i chatted with said they are only doing R1T drives. CS is basically useless.R u contacting cs or sc?
There have been reports of people doing test drives from sc...at least in southern caive contacted CS at least 7-8 times about this. ive asked my Guide. how in the world do you contact a SC about test drives? they have the ability to schedule these directly?
Now that they're busier delivering and servicing R1s.... it may be differentive contacted CS at least 7-8 times about this. ive asked my Guide also with same results - wait. when i told my Guide i know multiple people who have had multiple test drives she didnt believe me and even asked me for names... can you believe that? like i made it up or something. when i provided it she was surprised, but still wasnt able to get me any closer to a test drive. told me to wait.

oh yeah of course. i know the SC actually conduct/facilitate the test drives, but you cant actually directly contact them to request one. they have to reach out to you. at least thats my understanding. There have been reports of people doing test drives from sc...at least in southern ca
yeah, i ve heard of that happening. tried that in Belleve, no luck. there's such a randomness to Rivian that can be frustrating. they are trying to create a fun, free, different vibe/culture but the other side of that coin is disorganized. When I was at the Minneapolis SC just to look at the R1S' on the lot, one of the employees took us out for a drive in the test R1T when I told him I hadn't had my test yet. He let me know that they were supposed to have an R1S for first miles a month ago or so, but it got delayed.
Yeah we're pretty lucky here. I met two guys working there one was a delivery specialist and the other was their master tech. Both came up to me and my fiance and just started chatting about Rivian and asking me about my thoughts and when and what I ordered.yeah, i ve heard of that happening. tried that in Belleve, no luck. there's such a randomness to Rivian that can be frustrating. they are trying to create a fun, free, different vibe/culture but the other side of that coin is disorganized.
I remember people saying they showed up, and with a bit of luck and friendly talk were able to do a driveoh yeah of course. i know the SC actually conduct/facilitate the test drives, but you cant actually directly contact them to request one. they have to reach out to you. at least thats my understanding.
You're right, It's worth it.A true adventure from the get go
Excellent news!!!!Seems like they are sending out invites by pre-order date
Delivery window?.I received the R1S First Drive email yesterday too. Before receiving the email, I went by the Costa Mesa SC yesterday just to say hello and again saw my exact R1S but with underbody shield. They told me that next week they are receiving an R1S for test drives. So at Costa Mesa SC starting soon, it seems R1S First Drives (i.e., test drives) will be happening.
BTW I declined a test drive - I would rather test drive my actual R1S by taking delivery SOON - 1,388 days and counting!
