There are plenty that line up and wait 10+ cars deep to get a low price at Costco.
Many others drive right up to Chevron to pay a little more and get on with their day.
Both can serve a purpose.

On a trip last week I was pleased to see the RAN pricing in Quartzite, AZ had decreased (0.53) since I last used it a couple of months ago. The Wickenburg site was even cheaper (0.48)..
On my way to and from the CA desert again this weekend, Rivian was 53 cents for Rivians and 62 for non-Rivian. Tesla was 44 for teslas and members, 61 non+Tesla. Since this is my only road trip for the month, I may have actually spent more with the Tesla membership than just going to Rivian.

I had mentioned before that Rivian mapping and travel planning is now pushing the Rivian chargers very hard. I tried and found it impossible to select the supercharger across the street from the Rivian charger. This is quite nefarious and unfair.

That's interesting because the in-car Rivian route planning wanted us to go to the super chargers in Ehrenberg and I had to force it to go to the RAN in Quartzite.

Those are far enough apart that it was probably making a decision based on range and need.

Yep. But one would hope the 2026 buildout has been updated in light of the changing environment…
We shall see! It does take about 18 months for a site to go online from when the project is kicked off. So, I think we are now past that window of stuff that was already kicked off when all the NACS stuff went into motion.

News flash: Tesla has been raising supercharger rates too. The ones I use often used to be 32¢ and 34¢ after 11PM until 6AM. Now, 47¢.
