I reserved the R2 but I may have to wait for the tri-motor R3X! Love them both.

They proved me wrong - R2 production will begin in Normal! Too bad they couldn't move the delivery timeline up to 2025.
I thought for sure RJ was going to say 2025 when he started talking about moving the timing up. I thought 2026 was already the plan?

did anyone catch the battery configs on the R2. He stated the motor configs but I missed the battery info...
They did not talk about battery size but did say all configs are 300+ miles.

When someone say calendar year 2026 it can mean by the end of the cal year, so this was a pull up to first half of the year.

While I know it was a R2 / R3 launch event,

I was hoping to get some info about the R1 April changes.

I have an R1S reservation, and I've been holding off on the confirmation for many reasons.
One of them is waiting to see what the R2 holds.

While I love the space the R1S provides, I would also love to have some of the R2/R3 features.

Upgraded front seats.
Back hatch opening or at least rear window roll down.

I'll most likely go ahead with my R1 order later in 2024 but I'm now scared about the massive depreciation that will occur once R2 launches as it really seems like the more sensible choice.

Me too. I think this was the first time they've said "first half" of 2026.

The stock is all over the place...
I think some traders picked up stock to flip today, so as it goes up, some of them decide to take their profits. Also, most people weren't watching this. But I think as word spreads, this will bump the stock some more.

Also, a lot of investors who aren't necessarily Rivian boosters must be thinking they need to make it to July '26 for this excitement to pan out.

This reveal event was vastly better than the one Tesla did for Cybertruck… kudos to the team who put it together!

The R2 is spot on... I cant wait to get one
I reserved just as a what if but after seeing it almost certain to replace the Model S with it when the time comes. My wife is driving the Model S and thinks the R1S is too big for her as a daily driver, this will be right in the sweet spot for her.

I agree with the event, but the video not working in FireFox and the reserve button being problematic kinda stunk

Really impressed with the R2 reveal...however, would've loved a front row bench seat option (like the Defender) to increase flexibility to 6 passengers without adding a 3rd row. I'm sure the take-rate hasn't been that high on the Defender, so there probably isn't enough market justification for it, but if Land Rover can do it...
