The beauty of the Apple Music solution is that you don't need an external device since our Rivian's have Apple Music built in. Take 20 minutes and try it with just a couple of your CDs. Create an AppleID, put iTunes on your computer, and import a few CDs. You don't have to convert your entire library - Most of us listened to no more than 20 CDs 90% of the time. You can create playlists in iTunes that will immediately appear in Apple Music on your Rivian.I did buy an external CD / DVD spiner having a USB port / Cable. I could copy, transfer to a TB USB and do the same, but the formatting and the compatablity and file size is not as easy as "Pop in a CD". I do not find the IT of things exciting or even enjoyable, I am retired, so like others that need to "IT" all day, I have no skill set or attraction to that.
The compatability of OS and apps and the "Just do this or that" does not always work. But, if the Rivian did have a USB port on the dash, and when a drive was enserted into it, the control panel recognized it, and the folders and files were touch screen selectable, and this actually worked without us being Beta Tested on by some Android, I would go with that.

That, my friend, I do understand...I still have a stick up my ass from 10 yrs. ago when Apple screwed me on a Laptop. I have stopped eating the good side of Apple.
I just went back and watched the promotional videos and did not see a CD player unless Rivian is hiding it somewhere. Most of the time I listen to the radio bit I have a couple cd's that I pop in every now and then. I would think a cd player was standard in most vehicles.
Thasnks for the support and laugh. That, my friend, I do understand...
And no NPR, "Wait a min. dont tell me" show....Wait until he finds out there's no AM radio!
