Switched my Nov '21 reservation from an S to a T, and was pretty confused by the pricing:

Rivian R1T R1S R1T Weird Pricing? Screenshot 2023-12-13 at 8.27.13 PM

- The Adventure package is now 70k (from 73k?)
- Switching from dual to quad motor costs $1500
- Switching from dual to performance dual motor costs $2500
- Manual tonneau is $800

I think this shakes out approximately correct, but did they update this recently? Quite surprised by the difference here.

PS, should I get the charger & 2k credit now or should I wait for powered tonneaus to be available again? Not sure what the timeline on that is.

It maths. Changed when they offered us dual motors, they separated the motor package from the base price.

I‘m sure the new powered tonneau is nice and will be better than the first try, but who knows when they will start adding them to factory trucks again. They have said they will be able to retrofit it into trucks without it, but no pricing on that has been announced.

I have ridden in a dual performance and it felt very close to my quad motor, FWIW.

I would get what you want, whether it means waiting or going for it now.

If you're even thinking about a near future delivery or they suddenly give you Shop access.. .be very clear that you will only accept a 2024 VIN at this late date in 2023.
Rivian was still selling 2022 VIN Shop vehicles in Sept of this year without disclosing that fact to unsuspecting buyers.

The way I see it for PPH buyers there is not too much to complain about. Getting a 2022 at 2018 pricing seems like a good deal.
If there weren't delays we would have wound up with 2021 models.
Also when it comes time to sell it looks like a lower milage 2022.
