You can buy a lot of parts from the service center, they just don't have a way for you to order these online or over the phone.

Looks identical to the Toyota and Ford ones. Just measure the thread size and pitch and order one off ebay...

I think Toyota are 12mm or 14mm, GM 8mm, Ford 6, 10 or 12mm.

Shoulder bolts are also just a regular bolt with a spacer and large washer. So that's one option.

I'm guessing the "Rivian Won't" is more like "Rivian Can't" as they probably aren't setup and have no stock of things like this just sitting around. Get one of the YouTubers visiting the factory to grab one for you.....

Write RJ an email, he probably doesn't have visibility to theses types of frustrating issues and will get it on his list. His admin team can throw one in an envelope after a short walk on the factory floor. Large corporations sometimes don't see friction points the customers see, so reporting to a higher level is sometimes necessary.

I drove my R1T a couple of hundred miles with my tailgate down and the bolt that holds the tailgate support cable in place fell out along the way.

Believe it or not, Rivian wont sell me one and I have no idea where to find a replacement. I live 5 hours from the closest service center and they dont have any mobile service appointments coming to my area for the foreseeable future.

Can anyone tell me what to call this bolt and/or where I can find one?

@willsmithis any luck getting Rivian to ship you one? I'm curious if they would even bite at the request.
