Has anyone seen any issues with the paint on the frame of their R1T? I just took delivery of my R1T last week and was in the process in installing running boards from RealWheels EV. When I removed the covers under the truck , I noticed quite a lot of bubbling in the paint/coating on both sides of the frame where the running board mounts. I tried searching the forum but did not come up with anything similar reported other than another user reporting rust on the fasteners in the same area on his new R1T. I have an appointment for this week and will report back once service has had a chance to look at the defects. Curious if any other members have had this issue and how Rivian resolved it.

Unfortunately I had to move out the appointment to November. Once service has had a chance to look at it I will definitely update this post. I'm guessing most have not seen or reported this issue as this is hidden behind the panels under the truck, which would be removed mainly for installing running boards/rock sliders.

Well the truck is at the service center and I'm being told that it's the design of the battery pack cover...it's definitely not the cover ?. On a separate note, my front drive unit is being replaced due to a noise I was hearing at low speeds (around 24-25 mph) in all modes and regen settings. Hopefully I get the truck back before Thanksgiving. If I hear anymore from service on the frame, I'll update the post.

Final update. As per the Rivian Tech, this is normal appearance for the frame as other R1Ts in the shop were compared and had similar appearance in the coating on the frame (pictures were added to my service request of the other frame by the tech). On the plus side, the new front drive unit no longer makes any noises at lower speeds. Now I just need to re-install the running boards!
