I hope the next software update just fixes the wandering air vents
This. I've never adjusted air in a car more than I have in my R1s over this summer.

Gen 3 needs capt chairs. That's all I know.
I sat in an R2 for a few mins and the seats are way more comfortable than the racks in the R1.

Same here. And related to the same menu: Why, in the middle of summer when it's 90 degrees out and the AC is blasting, do the seat heaters come on when I tap the seat icon?

Exactly - seems like the simplest piece of software to have the icon switch to cooling with the temp outside is above 72 or something like that.

There is A LOT of screen tapping in general needed to do simple things. Don't get me started on the Spotify UI!

Hard disagree. But you know Alexa is still there, right? Go back to her and then see if you feel the same way about Rivian Assistant.
I'm guessing they didn't enable the privacy option that's basically required to get anything useful out of RA.

I honestly don't understand comments like this. My air vents are perfectly aimed, and I never have to touch them. Ever. As in I set them once when I got the car four years ago and that's where they are still. That's hasn't been true of any other car I've ever owned. Especially the ones with mechanical vents where I always have to re-adjust because someone else changed the directions or because I bumped them while getting in/out.

Maybe I'm just weird and normal people like to change the vents frequently. But then why complain about having to change the vents?

If you don't want to use the touchscreen, learn to use the Rivian Assistant to change the vents.

I don't know what the difference is really. The Gen 1 S is not the same as the Gen 2 T - that's for sure.

Both seem to have an inability to maintian saved settings for vent directions. Epsecially going from one driver to another. So, cold air ends up getting blown on legs or in faces quite often and requires a move.

I didn't say I didn't want to to use the touchscreen but the Assistant doesn't know whether she's pumped or stuffed so to ask her to move anything is laughable.

I parrot the Lef's post above, what else do we really need right now?
I have to leave my car in NYC garages fairly regularly, so I'd really like to have a valet mode (which supposedly is coming) that:
  • Prevents opening the frunk, rear hatch (R1S), gear tunnel (R1T), and center console bin
  • Locks the height at standard (disabling kneel mode if it's turned on) so we don't have to worry about the vehicle changing height while in the garage (for example if it's on a rack under another car)
  • Limits the speed to something set by the user. In NYC where I know the Rivian isn't leaving the garage, 15 MPH would be fine, but in Philly where they may be driving it to another lot I don't want to limit the speed
  • Locks the screen on the camera view
Too much to ask?

since the last update, my R1T thinks its on the next street over (nav shows this) if it sits for a couple of days. Garage door app doesn’t pop up, have to select it from the upper menu bar.
Also unlocking is wacked, I can unlock the truck open the door, be getting in and if my wife walks up on the passenger side the truck picks her up and switches the settings to her. Really annoying.

I’m just looking for bug fixes at this point, rather then having more things broken.

Gen1 drivers: "Alexa, tell Rivian to turn the air vents hard left, hard right, hard up, hard down, then return to center"

Rivian:

My T did the same for about a month. thought I was a good 00-700 yards away. this is why your garage doors don't pop any more, it doesn't know you are home... I let it sleep for like 5 days, no charger cable no driving, jsut sitting int he garage for a bunch of deep sleeps and it kinda fixed itself...
I had to delete my wife's profile because of the same. I'm 6'3" she is 4'10" so it was a big deal when the truck would try to make me eat my knees and put my head through the roof...
