QM motor noise dramatically reduced after half-shaft replacement

For anyone that has had half shafts replaced on a Quad - are you hearing less motor whine (or at least what I assumed was motor whine) than before? I'm either going deaf (possible - kid is a drummer) or there's a marked improvement.
