0 chance it's ready by March
Other than Rivian being bad at dates, what's the reasoning? They've probably been working on this for almost a year. Depending on what the fix is it may not be that hard to develop and manufacture.

The permanent fix - is that removing it?

Rivians track record for being on time, lets just say not the best.

That said, you might be on to something. They have been aware of tonneau issues sense mid 2021. The early press cars had them disabled and people were told not to film them in operation.

Rivian should be offering all owners of R1 with a powered tonneau, all of the upcoming pay for play features and services, at least up until they actually get us working design covers.

Instead of "sorry...someday we will fix your poorly designed cover....but for now....start paying for "unbundled" subscription services and features.

This is lose lose. Should at least be lose win...for the loyal customers.

Misconception is they all fail, mines works perfectly for 10 months.
Yeah mine works fine though I don't use it a ton, somewhat out of fear. I had a tech come early on because it was clunky and he encouraged me to just use it as if it didn't break it would likely break in and work better. It's definitely smoother now than when I got the truck. 🤞

March would be great. My plywood cover should last that long… really hoping the solution is still powered
