Retail FOMO has been really taken advantage of this year. I wouldn't be surprised to see it go up 2-3x the first week and then be shorted to hell.
The goal of any underwriter is to get IPO 5-10% below of estimated first day closing price. I think 9x is realistic. You know Elon wants it to tank so I’m surprised how quiet he’s managed to keep himself on this
But as nearly everyone here reports being allocated all the shares he asked for it would seem the enthusiasm among the faithful is not so great.
I recall Lyft IPO went through similar scenario. Price range bumped, final priced exceeds top end, multiple times oversubscribed, popped end of first day... yet kept falling for months even before pandemic. If the demand is high, Rivian can be the chooser, and I hope they chose the right investors.
SOFI investors were not getting as many as they requested, at least that's what they are showing on Stocktwits forum. I'm sure pre-order holders were given priority.
Just reported $125 based on orders. So anyone that sells at the open, based on 175 shares, made $8,225 pre tax.
