Hard to get a good picture, but it looks to be about half the thickness

Half the thickness, but also silicone instead of hard plastic. So it might be that the field propagates easier through it.

I'm tempted to try making a mold of the Rivian part and casting a new piece out of it—or 3D printing a replacement part. But I'll probably be trying your solution first, seems like a relatively cheap fix for the issue.

Lou's adorable. We have two standard-issue cats as well, both are sitting on my desk beside me in a furry heap right now.

You might try non-slip shelf liner. Amazon and home stores stock it in many colors.

This would definitely keep things from sliding around, but at .1 inch thick it would be thicker than the OEM charge pad. With all the coils in the center counsel one would think it should work. But my experience has been : Phone charges on OEM pad only without a case, and phone charges with a case without OEM pad. My conclusion is OEM pad is to thick
