Just got the new kit with the OBDII adapter. Seems to work great, but I don't see the unit ever shutting off -- the blue ring is lit up all day and night while the car sits. I understand there is a physical switch, but I doubt my wife's going to bother flipping it on and off. If the OBD II adapter is left on, is the empty mount going to drain my battery if I go on vacation for a week? I don't mind if it's a couple watts as it should generally be negligible, but not sure what the drain would be long-term.
we measured .2W, so plan for it to take years to drain the battery. 😉

Just installed mine yesterday on my Gen 2 2025, I love it, holds the phone secure, charging works great, position is good even in landscape with iPhone 15 Pro. One question, its using the OBD port power adapter which is fine but how can I get the blue ring to turn off? I tried turning off the switch on the OBD thingy but the blue light stays on

The light is on when the charger is powered. However, the switch does not turn it off. It's a mode switch according to the documentation that came with it. "O" mode is supposed to power off 20 minutes after the car and "I" mode will stay on indefinitely. It seems to me Rivian never sends a shut off signal to the OBD II port, so I think the light (and charger) will stay on indefinitely regardless of switch state. As for the ring light, seems like you need to block it physically if you don't want it to show. At 0.2W of draw as stated above, it would take 500k hours (57 years) to drain a 100kWh battery pack, so I think it's fine to leave it plugged in.

I’m not sure if there is an issue, but I am only getting 5w charging. Phone is iPhone 14 Pro Max, with 33% of a charge. Gen 2 R1S

I called EV Sportline on 10/24/24, talked to a nice lady there, she said tech support would be calling me, radio silent since.

@EV Sportline , you mentioned you sell just the bracket only for people to use their own accessories. Is there a link to purchase this or should you just send me a purchase invoice? Thank you!

Looks like it might block air flow from side vent. That could be an issue.
