Rivian OTA 2026.03 is hitting Gen 1 & Gen 2 vehicles this week with many improvements suggested by the community!

- Cold Weather improvements: Smarter range and battery insights in-car and on the app
- Kneel on Demand: Easier, broader access for a lower ride height
- Launch Mode: Now for ALL Performance Dual-Motor variants
- Sport Mode: Now for ALL Dual-Motor variants—with options for better ride comfort.

Plus, many more refinements under the hood!

Has anyone heard if they said launch mode increases top speed for better quarter mile times? We know the G1 vehicles are capable of 130 from the event that had in Normal before they started shipping.

Go to Drive Modes and choose Sport mode on the center display. Then choose Launch mode and follow the on-screen instructions. For more information and important warnings, go to the Owner's Guide and search for Launch mode.

We also know that gen1 vehicles are capable of a rudimentary tank turn but we never got that either.

Gen 1 was always limited on top speed due to tire speed ratings, so I can't see that changing due to liability reasons.

We also know that gen1 vehicles are capable of a rudimentary tank turn but we never got that either.

They were "capable" of a tank turn only by the head of software manually tweaking things on the fly in the back of the vehicle to compensate for motors that turned out to be not up to snuff for that particular task.
