An R1T Max Pack with no add-ons would cost $80,000 - just enough to get the new tax rebate. Wouldn’t it be a nice gesture for Rivian to reduce the price for it’s pre-price increase reservation holders so they could take advantage of that rebate? I’m going to stick with my Max in any case - and it’ll cost me $10,000 + $7500. Probably not the wisest thing to do financially, but out here in the desert southwest the additional range can be useful and ofttimes necessary.

Price isn't your only obstacle to eligibility, mineral content and possibly income would also disqualify. If you haven't signed the BPA, listen to what people are telling you before it is too late.

Thank you guys. I just signed it. Not sure what good it will do if I go ahead with my R1T Max, but it’s only $100……

The intent of the BPA is to get the old credit that doesn't have MSRP or income restriction. Either that or I'm really confused.

Until I hear otherwise, Rivian’s batteries won’t qualify for the new credit anyway, regardless of vehicle price or income. So there is no reason not to try to get the current credit. Worst case you lose $100.

So, zipzag, if I’m reading you correctly, even though my R1T Max will cost over $80,000, I’ll still be able to claim the $7500 tax credit based on the current law,, though it would not apply under the new law. And it wouldn’t matter if the truck was delivered on 2023. Correct?

I signed the BPA like others above but feel like I should switch back the wheels in my configuration. I called Rivian after reading the BPA and she said it wouldn't affect my place etc... Not sure how others feel but the language seems like changing anything could be an issue after signing it despite me not getting it until first half of 2023.
