Apologies if this is old news, but I noticed today that the configurator now shows range reduction (in miles) expected for the tire sizes other than the 21" standard size
  • 21" Wheel/Tire = 314 Mile Range
  • 20" Wheel/Tire = 274 Mile Range (40 mile reduction)
  • 22" Wheel/Tire = 293 Mile Range (21 mile reduction)

I believe this is more specific than the "10-15%" loss that was previously being given.

I saw that last night too, and assumed it was old news. Maybe not.

Worth noting though that Kyle from out of spec did about 295 miles on the 20 inch all-terrains.

Probably just under_promising....over delivering. That's so Rivian...except for truck deliveries

Worth noting that Kyle was at somewhat high altitude which decreases air density but doesn't impact (electric) motor power (net result - less drag impact). The results are awesome and a great sign that Rivian isn't wildly inflating the rated range, but may not be reproducible at sea level on a cold day.

Its important to note that its also a factor of tire composition, so those numbers are "as shipped". For example, you have the option to fit a road (esp. low rolling resistant) tire later on the 20" and you'd likely recover much of the losses.

Kyle ran in full conserve mode. I feel like the 21" is the quoted EPA estimate that was in part all purpose and part conserve, and the other 2 sizes are in All Purpose Mode.

Need to poke the aftermarket into making a nice aero cover to snap on to the 20" AT wheels (and the 22s for that matter) to get a bit better highway efficiency. Great example for Teslas: https://rimetrix.com/

Are there any owners in here that can confirm if you can change tire sizes in the UI (at least between the OE sizes if not others?) for people who might swap the stockers?

No. You can't.

I am not sure what this dude’s actual range is but his guestimator is hoping for 305(conserve on 20s). Love to see what 21s are getting on conserve.

This also seems to imply that Rivian doesn't think there is any difference between the different 20" wheels

FWIW, I've been commuting in Conserve mode (only brief stints in All-Purpose) to see if there is a benefit. Previously, I was at 2.04 mi/kWh primarily in All-Purpose mode. In Conserve, I have averaged 2.58 mi/kWh over the same route. I'm on the 20" wheels. At 70% daily charge, I get 213 miles estimated in Conserve mode which lines up well with about 300 miles.
