I didn’t see this mentioned anywhere but maybe I missed it. I saw an R1T with OC at the Venice Hub and they made a change to the speaker plastics which looks really good to my eye. They are all the same metal look as many other interior trim pieces instead of black plastic.

There's a least one person who has taken delivery of an Ocean Coast interior with the updated speaker covers. This was in the last couple of days.

Sorry if this is old info. I looked through the thread here and didn’t see anything but I was afraid I might have missed something in a delivery thread. I figured some closeup pics couldn’t hurt.

Don’t laugh but this change pushed me back to OC from FE. I wasn’t a fan of the black plastic grills on the OC headliner material. This new treatment looks higher quality to me (even though I’m sure it’s just painted plastic) and I suspect they’re going to use those grills on all 3 interior colors… s00n.

Oh, I wasn't trying to say that it was old news. Just confirming that this isn't just a Venice Hub thing and that there has been a delivery with the updates as well!

D’oh! I was so excited by how great and high quality they looked in person I came directly to this thread.

Well, at least people looking for OC pics can see more of them from here now.

One of my favorite features of my R1T is the Ocean Coast interior. In my nearly 2-year wait I never changed my interior configuration. It‘s light, bright and makes the interior feel larger.

I haven’t seen it in person, but I really like Ocean Coast in nearly every photo except for one thing: I really really really dislike the light steering wheel. It should be all black, IMHO. Otherwise, I think the new version with the black wood trim is an amazing look.

Metallic speaker grills look great on first impression, but I wonder if they’ll cause glare reflections. I’m currently configured for Forest Edge but might switch to Ocean Coast when it comes time to lock things in or if I get access to the R1S Store and that’s an earlier option.

I'm with you, it would look better black. I have a feeling as time goes on we'll be able to get the black airbag cover aftermarket.. can't be too difficult to replace.

It’s weird. The OC airbag cover looks strange in photos but looks like it belongs when sitting in the truck. No complaints here.

I'm with you, it would look better black. I have a feeling as time goes on we'll be able to get the black airbag cover aftermarket.. can't be too difficult to replace.

Yeah, that might sound easy to do, but that's a super critical safety component that carries sky high liability implications. I would be amazed if anyone would be willing to take on that liability in the secondary market (unless it's a Chinese product where they are 100% untouchable as is the case for most of their products).

100%. I thought it looked stupid in photos, but in person I don't even notice it, it blends in well and doesn't stick out like I thought it might.

Wood trim, airbag cover, headliner… If everyone got their way about changing certain OC elements to black it would literally just be Black Mountain.

Leave Ocean Coast alone. It’s bad enough we lost the lighter wood. Glad to see the lighter speaker grills — a step in the right direction.
