I can make out a Yakima only logo in the first picture. However, it looks longer than the Yakima/Rivian tent. So, not sure. Yakima only has 3 tents they currently sell (https://yakima.com/collections/rooftop-tents).Doesn’t appear to be the Yakima/Rivian tent. No Rivian logo. I’m curious which one this is and what adjustments had to be made?
Looks like you've been lurking at the San Diego SC like me!Was out at a service center and saw this earlier today. Thought I would finally join and contribute!
I ended up buying a set of Wadeo levelers after watching my buddy with an Airstream make it seam so easy. I’m going to try them out this weekend with an Off Grid Trailer.Struggled to find a level spot. Would be nice if Rivian makes a mode to level the truck out a bit better for a rooftop tent!
I thought this was supposed to be a feature.Struggled to find a level spot. Would be nice if Rivian makes a mode to level the truck out a bit better for a rooftop tent!
I can't find a way to do it. Definitely should be an option, IMO. Even if it were manual.I thought this was supposed to be a feature.
Got my truck 5/10 and picked up the tent 5/11. Haven't camped in it yet, but here it is somewhat set up on the R1T. Ordered some better corner poles rather than drill extra adjustment holes in the ones it came with. Other than that, I think it's going to be awesome. The vestibule area is large and really sturdy (which will help with the wind). Lots of ventilation and light. I also got an awning/privacy room that drops down from the vestibule, but I forgot to install that. Will do so next time I set up the tent.I got the 2-3 person Crua Aer (AER Series – Crua Outdoors) but haven't collected it yet. I went with it because I got a killer deal on Kickstarter, their tents are highly regarded, it's lower profile when folded than the Yakima/Rivian, and it has an insulated insert for colder weather.
Nice. Would that work turned 90 degrees with the entrance towards the camera and the windows at the sides?Got my truck 5/10 and picked up the tent 5/11. You'd have to figure out a way to mount it to the crossbars, but it would fit.Nice. Would that work turned 90 degrees with the entrance towards the camera and the windows at the sides?
I think I've decided I'm going to skip the wait on the Rivian/Yakima and go with this iKamper. Can I ask where you picked it up from? Online only has the gloss black hardshell in stock, which I would like to avoid if possible.Stars aligned and we were able to get the iKamper Skycamp Mini mounted and aired out ahead of our upcoming trip. It fits the R1T bed well; length, width and height are great. Reverse mounted it to minimize drag as much as possible; shall see if we keep it that way. Quality of the tent is wonderful. This'll be a nice change from years of ultra light 2P tents.
See if you can spot the deer in the first pic
In the last pic added two little lengths of paracord to the side window that normally couldn't be propped up due to the cab. Tied them to the roof rack mounts and it will now allow airflow and rain protection from both side; easy fix!
It's a great tent just from initial inspection, I don't think it's a bad option. I had ordered direct from iKamper when they first opened up their preorders. The are some retailers I recall seeing, perhaps one would have the Rocky in stock?I think I've decided I'm going to skip the wait on the Rivian/Yakima and go with this iKamper. Great choice. I like the Roofnest aluminum hard shell. I think it more durable than composite or fiberglass competitors.I ordered a Roofnest Condor Overland. I like that it has an all Aluminum exterior.
