Maybe charging will work in Canada now?
No mention of fixing the issue of little to no DCFC for Canadians, that I saw...

Update for you Wing... Texted with Chris at Rivian Calgary and he indicated the Canada DCFC fix should be included in the stack. Not sure why no mention in the notes.
I'll update my thread on the subject when I get the update.

Cool - an update for a part of the car where no one is 99% of the time.
Yeah. I know. Weird how the world doesn’t revolve around you, right. If you don’t have anyone in the back seat it must mean the rest of the world doesn't either. The ego to think that if it has no use for me then it has no use for anyone.
Sorry you are sad and alone and no one wants to ride in your truck.

You should have your coffee before posting.

I have 3 kids. We have 2 Rivians and the backseat is still empty for approx 99% of the time.

There is a laundry list of software update needs and yet after 2 years or so that many have have their truck - most of them have not been pushed out.

I wanted rear screen updates. So I am happy, but I also wanted quad zone control - which Wassym said was coming (read earlier post of mine).

BUT, there are other updates I want more. Like camera view for turn signal which Wassym said he had demoed a year ago. That said, I am one of those who falls into the “I am happy we receive updates at a regular cadence, some will be more helpful than others, so let’s be happy with what we have” group.

You get what you get and you don’t get upset.

They have done most of the updates with infotainment and side camera about the only things left outside of navigation and driver + updates. I doubt your back seats with three kids are 99% empty. Even if they are others use the back seats.

Personally, my 9 year old saw the updates IMMEDIATELY and started playing with all the new features. He digs it so much, I think he's going to force us to buy more Rivians for his entertainment!! :D

Also, I no longer require any 'assistant' within the vehicle. He likes to shout out the next track that's playing and let me know where the climate control is set. AND, as a bonus, he can tell me which direction we're travelling every time I make a turn ...! :CWL: (Let's hope the novelty wears off soon for my sanity)

Me too. Is 2024.11 available now? Wouldn’t it show up in the app?

Man, EVERY TIME.

OK ladies and gentleman, here's your thread specific PSA:

Updates are phased rollouts. There's no rhyme or reason as to when you'll get yours. Be patient. They will come.

If you're upset about that, because you're not "FIRST IN LINE" every time, call Rivian. And they'll tell you the same exact thing.

Your vehicle isn't broken and you're not being discriminated against because you haven't yet received a notification that your update is ready. And yes, you should receive a push notification, so long as your particular phone allows for it. If you don't see it as an option to update under your software version in the app, you are not yet ready to update.

Probably 99% of owners receive the update within ~2 weeks of the first person saying "I GOT MINE!!"

Updating right now. I was at 2024.07.02. Not sure what the new version is as I didn't pay attention before hitting the update button.

Updated last night when I got the notification at ~8:00pm.

As others have posted here, I'm pretty surprised I got the notification/update on the first day. I'm usually a week or more out based on what I usually see here.

Didn't really poke around yet since I'm not in the back seat.

Never said larger just that it doesn't have to be monthly. If they want to release an update that is quality I am happy. If the software isn't ready don't rush it just to hit a monthly target, that will lead to nightmares.
That's...not how a lot of software engineering groups operate. There's a target date where a release is cut for testing, that's the date stamp for the release, and anything that is ready goes in that release. Features that don't make the cutoff get marked for the next release. If something for the current release is found to have issues, they'll pull that feature and it gets thrown in the next one if it works properly, etc, etc.

New to Rivian. Is there a rhyme or reason to the software version naming convention? I.e., 2024.07.03 is now updating to 2024.11.02 … what do the numbers signify (since they don’t appear to be sequential)? Thanks in advance for any insight here.
year . week_of_year . patch_version

It's a rolling window for updates. They'll push it out to a small number of employee test vehicles internally, then if no issues are found they'll do a small push to the customer fleet. If no issues arise then another wave goes out to customers and so on until the whole fleet has been updated. As someone who got stuck with the 2023.42.0 update which broke the center display, you definitely don't want the whole fleet to get the update at the same time.
