  1. SL vs LT Toyo Open Country A/T III — ride/noise difference?

Thank you for sharing. I don't think I ever seen anyone complain about the noise or efficiency on the Toyos. Perhaps the SL is a bit better on both. I currently have 22s, but just 20 in custom wheels. I'm undecided on whether I'll sell the 22s, so was approaching this as they may be my daily...
  2. SL vs LT Toyo Open Country A/T III — ride/noise difference?

I'm trying to decide between the SL and LT versions of the Toyo Open Country A/T III for my R1S (20 in wheels). Reason I'm asking: the SL is currently out of stock, so I'm trying to figure out if I should just grab the LTs now or wait it out. I understand the trade-offs generally — weight...
  3. What are you using / looking for in a mattress?

Luno. In particular, like that I have the option to just use half. Or adjust comfort levels separately on each side.
  4. Comma Extreme Dev Kit NOW AVAILABLE

Appreciate all the work that went into this! Hopefully the install is a bit easier the second time. Regardless, Comma for Rivian is amazing and totally worth some fiddling to get the harness aligned. I've had zero complaints with the longitudinal upgrade, so looking forward to an upgrade to my...
  5. White powder coated wheels - looking for feedback.

White. So going for the white on white thing. With ocean coast interior, too. It will look something like this.
  6. White powder coated wheels - looking for feedback.

I get it. I just had custom 20s made for my Glacier White R1S and should have them by the end of the month. I was going for something between Dune Edition and Rally Group B. Of course, I'll ceramic coat them. Car washing happens weekly. These are photos of the actual wheels. Personally, not...
  7. Why Wheels?

Agree with @kanundrum. I try to avoid "me too." These are coming soon to my R1S (also glacier white). Going for a vintage Group B rally look. I realize that's not everyone's taste, but pretty excited.
  8. 3rd party self-driving options for Gen1 R1? Comma 4?

+1 on the documentation. For example, it will advise you to make sure your Rivian is asleep. Follow that and Gerry's videos. The Out of Spec video was well-intended, but misleading, if I recall. For me, a pair of hemostats saved the day to angle/align the harness so that it could be pushed...
  9. Here’s a weird one - Rain, snow = Turtle mode

As explained to me, the root cause is wheel slippage. And perhaps (in my case) this is why they have a sand mode. That said, there's no way turtle mode is acceptable in these scenarios. Perhaps service will see an anomaly in the log data. Until I read this thread, I had dismissed the issue...
  10. Here’s a weird one - Rain, snow = Turtle mode

I had a similar issue almost instantly when driving on sand in in all terrain mode (I don't have sand mode). It took a bunch of resets to clear and totally fine on pavement since.
  11. Ceramic Coating changed my car washing life

The shop that did my ceramic coating first did a full paint correction, even though the vehicle was new. I was amazed to what a big difference it made. +1 on Gyeon Wet.
  12. Rivian x Kammok + Side Mount Kit Solution.

Cool solution! If not selling these, it seems like a great candidate to have made by sendcutsend.com if the drawings or specs are made available.
  13. Comma AI Owner Demo Drive Connect Thread

Bruce here with an R1S in Northern Virginia (Oakton). Comma 3 + The Longitudinal upgrade kit. Happy to participate. Shout out to @gerrylum, who helped me on Discord back in July with some troubleshooting. Would love to pay it forward. While the install was a bit a challenge, my experience...
  14. Got Electrician - What do I need to know?

Gotcha... Missed that. Unfortunately, my options are 40 or 48.
  15. Got Electrician - What do I need to know?

I'm not sure I understand. In my case, I had to adjust the dip switches to 40A to prevent overheating again.
  16. Got Electrician - What do I need to know?

FWIW: My licensed electrician used the wrong cable type to support a sustained 48A charge. Specifically, he installed 6/2 Romex NM-B cable, which is only rated for 55A. Because EV charging is considered a continuous load, that cable can safely support 40A max, not 48A. I had my Rivian EVSE DIP...
  17. Under dash 12v outlet inoperable

I don't have a 12v outlet. First thing that came to mind, though, is whether power to it is tied to the setting for turning on the 120v outlets.
  18. My First time Camping(ever) in my Rivian with the Mid-Atlantic Club on Assateage Island

Thanks! A labor of love for sure. At some point, I'll do a full post on the car bar. To answer your questions... I used this clear/ribbed liner (had some left over). It kinda grippy with glass, plus it was packed full so not much room to slide around. I used these bottle sleeves from Amazon...
