I can't say I'm super familiar with this unit, but it sounds like this just just Android Auto & CarPlay? EV Play is a full on Android-based mini-computer capable of running most Google Play apps. Think Minecraft, Grand Theft Auto, Excel, Zoom, Outlook, Chrome, Firefox, In-car karaoke, Netflix. Chat GPT. Plus thousands more. It has USB ports so hook up real X-Box style game controllers, or a keyboard, mouse, cameras, GPS.Sorry if I missed it, but has anyone done a comparison between this and a high end CP display unit like the CarPodGo T3 Pro? I like that one a lot, though of course, it's got a much smaller screen and is an extra screen. Which is both good and bad. I wonder what is gained/lost compared to the separate device.

Yes, a great CP experience is all I'm after. So my thought was on how that experience compares between a dedicated screen, and the existing car screen.but it sounds like this just just Android Auto & CarPlay
Preodering is now live! |
Hi All, Great news, preordering is now live! Here is how it works: · Pricing for EV Play is $399.00, plus an optional $2.99/mo subscription which includes updates, new features, customer support, access to the forums, and a few other things. As an early adopter, I'm waiving the subscription fee for the first month. · At this point I'm requiring a fully-refundable $99.00 deposit which reserves you a unit on this first batch. Lead time to get parts, build them, and ship them will be 3-4 weeks +/-. While a few extra units will be built, you will most likely end up waiting a while if you don't reserve one now. · Once your unit is ready to ship, I'll send an email with instructions on how to confirm your shipping address and pay the remaining balance. · A quick note on expectations. This is the first version of an aftermarket device that is accomplishing something that most people thought was impossible. Providing the ability to have CarPlay and Android Auto in your Rivian was no easy feat. While the device has been, and continues to be, extensively tested, if you're expecting a 100% bug-free experience right out the gate then this may not be the best solution for you. We will get there. I know this is preaching to the choir a bit, since we are all Rivian owners after all; being an early adopter is in our blood! With that said, this is also an opportunity to be part of something pretty amazing. EV Play is destined not just for Rivian screens, but eventually, all screens on the road. |
and you didn’t come and tell us that ordering was open already? You should be moved to the back of the list.Somehow, I was able to pre-order yesterday. I am order number 2765. Seems unlikely that there are that many orders ahead of me?
