As much as I thought I'd never sell this truck, business interests are forcing me to liquidate temporarily and have no choice but to let go of my Rivian.

It's been a fun ride. I absolutely love this truck. The ride quality is incredible, superior to most luxury cars I've owned.

I have truly enjoyed interacting on the forums and sharing all of my little modifications.

I will certainly be buying another one once my business stuff clears up, so I won't be gone for too long. Just hate to let this one go as I finally got it where I wanted it

While the finished list of add-on goodies isn't that long and sound so simple now, due to my trying several variations of many of them, they were all a major project to complete.

Did you consider selling on the Cars & Bids auction site? eBay seems to attract all of the scammers and low life’s of society.

Cars & Bids has zero selling fees and they have a great track record with R1T sales. Used 2022ā€˜s with similar mileage are fetching $58k - $60k (4.5% buyers fee).

My Mom taught me, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. So, I'll withhold my comments regarding Car & Bids.

There are a couple of "review" sites out there where other's have provided their own reviews / feedback regarding the site. I didn't post anything on those sites, but definitely don't disagree with the reviews I've read. Site has great "potential".

While not on all cars, I've had pretty good luck with higher-end vehicles selling on E-bay. Naturally, if you use that "other" site, and the competitor sites, buyer's have to factor in the 4.5%+ fee. On a $60,000 vehicle, that's $2,700. While the seller technically pays no fees for the listing, you can be sure that buyers will factor in that additional cost when determining their maximum bid amount, so it does still impact the seller's net proceeds. Ebay charges a reasonable straight listing fee up front and does not take a percentage of the sale.

With the Ebay listing, you're also in complete control of the listing and can have your car listed in a matter of a couple of minutes. These other sites, while filled with potential, do have a relatively lengthy process to get a vehicle on their sites. From experience, from start to finish, about a month to get a car sold on those sites. Ebay, 1-2 weeks. But again, Ebay isn't the best for all cars. But, they do seem to do pretty well for cars in the $40,000 to $90,000 range.

The other sites are always an option that I may consider if the ebay listing is unsuccessful.

I sure hope you set a reasonable reserve. Prices are dropping fast

Why are prices dropping so fast? I am (patiently) in the market for an R1T. I have watched one go from mid $60s to mid $50s in a week.

Now I am seeing Rivian may have an announcement on Saturday. I am fine with a 22, 23 or 24 model. The only thing I would wait for is a NACS connector. And I know that is not about to happen.

Why do the pictures make it look like it has the Black Mountain - Dark Ash, and not the Forest Edge - Warm Ash?

That to me looks like Black Mountain?

Don't wait just for that, charging adapters are here to stay for a good long while. Tesla owners carry CCS-NACS adapters as there are definitely cases where a CCS fast charger is more available/convenient that the Tesla superchargers.

My last roadtrip only Tesla Destination chargers (<11KW I think) and CCS Fast were available and convenient.

It's set in that price range. To think, back when I bought it, I had also bought the Ford Lightning and both ended up showing within 2 days of each other, despite the Rivian being ordered 3 years prior and Ford a year+ prior. I had to choose one. I listed both just to see. My Ford was the first ever offered as a "used" vehicle. I received multiple offers around $125k on my Rivian and the Ford was struggling to break $100K. I still kept the Rivian. Times have changed.

With the new lease rates being what they are, I may just go lease a new one.

The car market in general is crashing. While the media likes to focus on EVs and how they’re not selling so great, which is true, most are not acknowledging that ICE vehicles are suffering in the same way. The lower priced segment (sub $30K MSRP) is selling like hotcakes because that’s what people can afford and or are willing to pay when the price of EVERYTHING has gone up significantly in the past couple years and interest rates are also double what they were 2 years ago. Sure, there are still people buying R1’s with max packs and loaded up Model S/X and Taycans, but most people who were willing and able to plunk down $80K+ on an EV have already done so and those on the fence aren’t going to do it with all the other economic factors as they are.

The secondary market is taking a beating. Lots of people selling EVs for a variety of reasons…. Many bought simply thinking they could capitalize on flipping it. That only worked for the first 3 Lightnings to hit the market, maybe the first dozen R1Ts. Cybertruck? Hah, Tesla is CRANKING them out and reservation to order conversion rate is under 20%. Seems 1 out of every 5 of them delivered are up for sale for stupid inflated prices because all these people thought they could make a quick buck. Consumers who already have EVs are not in a hurry to sell/replace even with newer models hitting the market. Sure, some things get updated, but the savvy consumer is waiting for breakthroughs in battery and charging tech before theyā€˜re going to upgrade. I know I’m like many, I plan to replace our Model Y with an R2 and until that day, will happily keep driving our now 4 year old Y that has 75K trouble-free miles on it. I ended up with the F150 Lightning instead of the R1T…. It just suited my needs better overall. What would it take me to replace it? Well, I still need to get more use out of my Lightning so I don’t take a financial beating…. But even then, unless you give me 400+ real-world miles of range and 800~1000V charging, I’m frankly not interested.
